(This is today's song recommendation! If you haven't heard it your missing out)
—————
"Don't you feel lonely? Living in your own little world?" He said. "Just you and your thoughts and no one else."
"Well, don't you feel powerless? Living in other people's words?" She whispered back, following him to his room. "They're own ideas and expectations of who you are."

Layla's fingers picked at the skin on her scarred knee, the fast pace guitaring of an old arctic monkeys song in the background making her heart beat faster and faster, or was it the waiting, or maybe the nerves; at this point she wasnt sure.
"Are they done yet?" Alice was currently yawning, her words cut short by the need to breath. "My eyes are closing.."
Layla stalked the screen in front carefully, specifically the pending icon. Her speed run had been being reviewed by the admins for over an hour now, but she knew they'd drop everything to analysis is. After all, she was claiming she beat what she could only assume was the god worshipped by these people.
"Layla? Are you listening to that stupid song again?" The girl laughed sleepily. "What is it with you and repeating song you enjoy until they get worn out, hmm? In a week you'll hate it."
She didn't reply, but instead refreshed her browser. "Any minute now..." her ears latched on to the lyrics. It was a soft and light heart song, completely wrong for the situation. "And it may just take yourrr breath away- I don't mind it it's not much to say - ohhhh...." he voice was small but her words jumbled out at speed.
"Ah shit, I really have to go now." Alice winced, an audible door shutting from her room mate telling her to shut up. Her voice was close and low, "text me in a few hours when I'm up." And she was gone.
Layla felt her chest drop, but it was okay. The songs pace rapidly inclined as her web page turned black, and a notification popped up, starting her so much she rolled backward, hitting her head on the post of her bed.
'Your submission was approved. Congratulations.'
"I did it..." she wanted to scream, clutching her aching skull. "I FUCKING DID IT! ALICE I-" Alice wasn't there. Oh. Neither was Derek. No one was. Her head turned to her phone that was still blasting out music. Her face shone with an unwaving joy as she jump carelessly on her bed. She still had her music. "OHHHHHHH IN THE HOLE OF YOUR SWEATERRRRR!"
She felt warm, but the chorus didn't even get sung completely before a familiar pitter patter was heard to her right. "Oh shit, water...?" Droplets got swept through the open window and soaked into the carpet below. And then she remembered. "THE CLOTHES LINE!" It was indeed raining. With a rush and a scurry, the girl scrambled down stairs, the explicit song still raging in her head.
...
His eyes opened sharply to what sounded like a shout. Dreams room was pitch black, and a small stream of wind whistled through his open bedroom door. Silence again.
