Date pt2

Akaashi's pov

Bokuto really is amazing, I can't believe he's taken me out on a volleyball date. The game went by so quickly, Bokuto and I earning majority of the points with our set spike combination. But the game did end and it felt a little sad to say goodbye to volleyball again, I felt myself tear up a little as we left the gym. "Keiji don't worry you can set to me whenever you want" his infectious smile causing my tears to dry.

"I'd like that Kō".

We walked back to the car it was now probably 4:00pm "are you hungry Keiji?".

"Yeh I could eat"

"Okay" the grin on his face scares me sometimes.

We drove past a few familiar places that kinda hinted to where we were going to eat. I was staring out the window my hand in Bokuto's lap as he drove. It was so peaceful we didn't talk but that didn't make things awkward we just didn't need to, the silence was relaxing.

We pulled up to where we were going to eat. "Really Kō?".

"Sorry Keiji but I love the food he makes" he's smile growing with a small chuckle.

We walked inside to see Rin and Akihiko at the counter of their cafe just being cute. It was rather empty at this time of day so it was more calming than usual, until a large hound came running up to me knocking me off my feet. "Ahhhh Bella calm down" I said while being attacked with licks and nuzzles from the fluffy golden retriever.

"Bella!" Rin called out with her getting off and trotting over to him. "Sorry about that Keiji"

"It's okay" I said while walking over to the counter with Bokuto.

Bokuto seemed very fascinated by Bella, constantly giving her his attention, making me a little jealous. I sighed and stuck my fork into the slice of carrot cake my brother had given me while Bokuto continued to baby talk Bella. Akihiko came over to ask what we wanted for dinner his husband trailing close behind him, I order while Bokuto received a light kick from Rin so that he would pay attention to his husband when he asked a question. Bokuto order and the couple walked back over to the kitchen calling Bella back over to them causing Bokuto to pout as she trotted over to Rin. I sighed while placing my hand on Bokuto's thigh and rested my head on his shoulder "You really are a child at heart Kō"

"Wh-what no I'm not" he whined.

"Thanks for proving my point Kō" I said nuzzling my face into his broad shoulder. He just sighed and returned the attention that I was giving him by wrapping his arm around me and pulling me in closer.

The date was coming to an end with us finishing the meal that my brother in-law had made for us and an actual conversation about something normal, volleyball. We stood and said our goodbyes to Akihiko and Rin and headed back to the car. It was turning into a blizzard of a night, the wind howling and the rain bucketing down. I began to shiver as the cold began to hit me, Bokuto noticed and turned on the heater. The drive became a warm and cozy trip and I felt myself beginning to become drowsy from the newfound comfort until I saw something run across the road. It wasn't a busy night so the road was almost empty. "Kō pull over!"

"Huh why?"

"Just do it" I begged. He did as I asked and I quickly got out of the car almost slipping over on the drenched concrete.

"Keiji you're gonna catch a cold in this weather" I heard Bokuto yell out to me but I didn't pay any attention to it, my mind was focused on what I saw.

"Kō theirs a blanket in the boot of the car, please get it out and put in onto the back seat!" I yelled so my voice would be heard through the storm.

I ran down a cold, dark and wet alleyway continuing to be pelted by the rain when I saw it, I knew it. A small sooted puppy sat in-front of me whimpering and trembling. I was wary about touching it just in case it decided to bite, but it didn't. I put my hand forward and it slowly came forward to sniff my hand. Once it had become familiar with my smell it started to nuzzle into my touch as it walked closer to me. I covered it from the rain with my body, looming over it when Bokuto came running down the alleyway.

"Keiji you need to get out of the-" I revealed the sad thing that I was cradling and Bokuto began so slowly walk over trying not to scare it but never the less Bokuto is a lot bigger than myself and the puppy jolted into my arms. I took off my jumper and gently picked the starved puppy up and began to quickly walk back to the car.

I got into the back where the blanket had been put and carefully swapped my jumper for the blanket. "I'm gonna stay in the back with it okay".

"Okay. Keep it warm" Bokuto responded.

The drive back was now cold again, I was soaked from every angle my hair stuck to my face from the rain but I didn't care I just wanted to keep the poor thing warm. The pup was definitely still young maybe a few months old but was way to light for what it should be which concerned me deeply.

When we got back home we both rushed inside trying to avoid the weather and brought the puppy up to our floor. Bokuto opened the door for me and I was hit with a wave of heat from the AC that Kenma and Kuroo had on. I carefully moved the puppy to the couch and placed it down gently so that I could get it some food and water from the kitchen. As I stood up and began to walk into the kitchen the sooted pup followed. "No stay" I said firmly but it was obviously a stray so it didn't listen. I sighed and continued to walk into the kitchen to get it some food and water with it training my steps almost tripping me up. I pulled out some fresh mince meat and put that into a plate then placed it onto the floor in front of it along with a dish of water. It took a few small sniffs of the meat then began to calmly eat it. I sat down on the cold kitchen floor still soaked and began to gently pat the drenched puppy.

"It's really taken a liking to you Keiji" Bokuto said while walking back into the kitchen with two towels and some clean clothes for us.

"Yeh I guess it has" I spoke softly.
