Chapter 21: Good Start

After the winter break, car launch, and pre-season tests, F1 2011 was officially started. Seb had a privilege to use number 1 on his car for the first time, as he won the WDC title in the previous year.

Since the celebration party in Heppenheim, Jacqie hadn't met him. Looking at her own college schedule, she thought that she could attend the Australian GP in the last week of March.

She flew to Melbourne with Elisa and Vania on Wednesday, but she wouldn't meet him as he had some activities at the circuit for the season opener. While, the girls decided to just stay at the hotel after they arrived.

The following day, they went to Albert Park circuit. Before they entered the paddock entrance, she met a beautiful woman. She gave a genuine smile and greeted her. Then, she realized that it was Raquel del Rosario, Fernando's wife.

"Hi! Are you Jacqueline, Sebastian's girlfriend?"

"Yes, I am. Are you Raquel, Fernando's wife?"

She was very cute when she laughed. "Yes, that's right. I know that it's so late, but I want to congratulate your boyfriend, as he did a great job last year."

"Oh, thank you very much, Raquel. Your husband did a very well job as well. He's a tough competitor for Seb."

"Yeah, at first I thought that he would win the title, but I was wrong." Then she chuckled, "I'm sorry, Jacqie. I didn't mean that Seb didn't deserve it."

"You don't have to apologize. I understand what you mean. I believe that he can try again this season. Erm, if I'm not mistaken, you are a singer, right?" she asked her as she had read some articles about her on the internet.

"Yes, I'm a band vocalist in my country, Spain. I'm very busy with them, so that's why I barely come to the race. And what about you?"

"Oh, I see. I'm a colleger. I'm still studying at a university, and I'm gonna finish it next year. Hmm, come on! Let's go inside."

She agreed. "Sure."

Raquel was very kind and beautiful. Jacqie was so happy to have a new friend, which was fellow F1 WAGs. After that, they entered the paddock area together. Then, she said goodbye, waved her hand and walked to Ferrari's hospitality, while Elisa, Vania and herself went to RBR's.

When they arrived there, she didn't see Seb. She thought that he was walking the track with the crew. In the hospitality, she met Britta who was drinking her coffee. When she realized that her driver's girlfriend arrived, she quickly stood up from her chair.

"Jacqie! Long time no see you."

She hugged her for a few moments. "Britta! I've missed you so much, and F1 too. How's life?"

"I've missed you too. I'm great, thanks. What about you?"

"I'm very well, thank you."

It seemed like Britta understood that she was looking for Seb. "Seb is walking the track now. You can wait for him here."

"Ah, okay."

Britta didn't forget to greet Elisa and Vania as well before asking if they wanted something to eat or drink, but they refused politely as they had been full after having breakfast at the hotel.

A few minutes later, Norbert appeared from the toilet there. He smiled when he saw his son's girlfriend. "Jacqie, how are you?"

She gave him a quick hug and replied, "I'm fine. What about you, Norbert?"

"I'm feeling great."

For about an hour, they talked to them. They reminisced the moments when Seb won the title in Abu Dhabi. Britta still couldn't believe that now she was a press officer to the reigning world champion.
