Chapter 14: Cooking Challenge

One day after Seb's birthday was Martha's birthday. When Jacqie searched for his gift with Vania, she was looking for her mother's as well. In the morning, she gave it to her and she really loved it. Then, as usual, he picked them up from the hotel and they met at the lobby.

"Good morning, all!" Seb greeted them.

"Hey, good morning, Seb!"

Seb gave a kiss on Jacqie's cheek before he walked closer to Martha. "Jacqie has told me that today is your birthday. Happy birthday, Martha."

Martha received a hug from Seb. "Yes, you're right. Thank you very much, Seb."

"My mom is 45 years old today, but she looks 10 years younger than her age," Jacqie teased her mother, but she insisted that she told the truth.

"Jacqie!" Martha pinched her cheek immediately, and the others, including Seb, laughed after seeing that.

"Am I wrong, mom?" Jacqie tried to defend her opinion.

"Don't be exaggerated," Martha warned her, then she smiled right after.

Jacqie chuckled. "You may disagree with me, but I still stand by my opinion," she said before kissing her mother's cheek.

"Alright, let's go to my home!" Seb asked them all.

"Okay, come on!" Sebastiaan said before he embraced Martha.

They walked to the place where Seb parked his car. On their way, Seb talked to Sebastiaan, while Jacqie spoke with her mother and Vania. When they arrived, they saw Stefanie and Melanie who were sitting on the chairs in front of his house. After they went out of the car, they greeted them.

"Good morning, all!" Stefanie greeted Jacqie, her parents, and Vania.

"Hi! Good morning, Stefanie and Melanie!"

Melanie smiled and said, "Please come in." Then, she talked to Seb, "Oh Seb, mom is at the kitchen now. She asks you and Jacqie to come there."

"For what?" Seb frowned, asking his sister.

Melanie shrugged. "I don't know. But she's waiting for you and Jacqie there."

"Hmm okay. Come on, Jacqie."

Jacqie nodded. "Okay, Seb."

They all came into the guest room first. Then, Jacqie's parents and Vania sat there, while Seb was holding Jacqie's hand as they walked to the kitchen. She greeted Heike after they saw her there.

"Good morning, Heike."

Heike smiled at her. "Hi! Good morning, Jacqie."

Seb asked his mother, "Mom, why are you waiting for us here? Is there something that you want to talk about?"

"You said that today is Jacqueline's mother's birthday, right?"

"Correct," Seb nodded. While Jacqie was quite surprised that he had told Heike about her mother's birthday.

"So now, I am going to give you a challenge," she stated.

"A challenge?" Jacqie frowned.

"Yes. You have to cook something special for your mother, Jacqie. And also for all of us here for sure."

"You want me to cook?" Jacqie often cooked something on a special day like her parents' birthdays. But she'd never done that at someone's house.

"Yeah. You can cook anything, together with Seb," she smiled.
