As we pulled up outside my apartment 45 minutes later I noticed that Natalie had fallen asleep ,I knew she still wasn't feeling well and was putting up a facade all day
I smiled as I watched the brunette next to me peacefully dozing ,I didn't want to wake her up but I knew she would want me to so I gently rubbed her shoulder and whispered
"Natalie honey we are here ,you need to get up" I said and she stirred a little bit before opening her eyes
She was gorgeous ,her eyes sparkled with their innocence as the run rays illuminated them making her appear almost angelic ...something to pure to belong in today's fucked up world
She rubbed the sleep out of her eyed and she looked at me ,my heart skipped a beat as cheesy as it may sound
"Hey" she said as she smiled at me causing me to forget how to breath temporarily
I cleared my throat and smiled back"hey ,wanna go inside?it looks like it might start raining again soon"I said as I looked at the menacing grey clouds forming in the sky
Even though it was early autumn we always had rain being that we are living in London
"Sure,I would love to" she said as she began to open her door to get out
I ran around the car faster than lightning and helped her out
She smiled at me once more and she stretched ,I admired the sight as I pulled our bags out from the boot of the car I interlaced our fingers and we walked to the door
"Good day Mr Sampson" Paul the doorman of my building greeted as he held the door open for us
"Hello Paul ,please don't call me Mr Sampson ,Marshall is just fine ,you are older than Mr hence there is no need" I said as I entered the lobby with Natalie and turned to face the elderly gentleman that was a doorman here for as long as I can remember
"Very well then Marshall ,and who I might this beautiful young woman be?" He asked and I smiled
"Natalie" she answered as she shook Paul's hand in a friendly greeting
Paul's smile reached his eyes for once and he seemed to grow and Natalie to since she was also smiling wholeheartedly ,you gotta love the old guy with the big heart I thought as Natalie stepped back and interlaced our fingers once more
"Pleasure to meet you Natalie ,I hope Marshall here treats you right and if he doesn't don't hesitate to tell me ,I'll make sure he accidently forgets his keys and has to stand outside on a rainy day since I will not allow him in" Paul said and Natalie laughed
"Thanks Paul I'll make sure to keep that in mind"Natalie said as she giggled
" let me not keep you two waiting I'll see you soon"Paul said as the elevator dinged and we were able to leave the lobby ,Natalie and I both stepped in and after a eave to Paul the doors closed
"He is sweet ,I like him" Natalie said as she rested her head in my shoulder ,I hummed my agreement and sighed in pure content as the doors opened on the 15th floor of my building indicating that we could get off
Natalie and I walked to my door in complete silence though it was comfortable, I dug through my pockets for my keys and unlocked the door
Natalie looked at me quizzically as I set the bags down instead if walking in ,I smirked at her and before she could figure out what I was doing ,I picked her up bridal style and carried her inside
She squealed as I did so "what did you do that for? I could have just walked you know" she said matter of factly as she looked up at me from her place in my arms
