You leaped out of bed and quickly got to work. You waved hi to everyone including Newt and started to take the dirt, to ready it for planting. You had a smile planted on your face. "Why are you so happy?" Newt asked as he handed you a wooden hoe. "I don't really know, I just am happy!" You said as you twirled around and started to hum. Zart, the keeper of the gardens just rolled his eyes, "as long as you're doing your part," he said as he walked away to help another glader. You giggled and continued to work. Newt tried to stop smiling but he couldn't. He liked you, a lot.

*b—beeeeep*

The box alarm went off and everyone stopped what they were doing and ran to the box. You hid behind Newt and Gally as they saw the box open up. (it's not teresa because i hate her 🤭) It was a boy, you groaned. He was oldish but youngish. He seemed to be a little older than you and about Newt's age. He seemed to be unconscious, because he wasn't moving. You jumped down the box before Gally or Newt could stop you. You squat down and poked his shoulder. "I think he's dead?" You said about to poke him again. The boy woke up and grabbed your wrist and slammed you onto the metal cage. The boys exclaimed and jumped down into the box. "Y/N!" Newt shout as he held the guy back.

Gally calmed Newt down and grabbed the guy down. You groaned in pain and saw blood on your hands as you touched the back of your head. "ugh," you said as you slowly got up. Newt and Thomas helped you out of the box. "Take to the Medjack," Thomas said to Newt while Clint and Jeff followed. You looked back at the boy getting lectured by Gally. You sat down, "I'm really fine," you said about to exit. Newt stopped you, "get some bandages." He said in a firm voice. You rolled your eyes and waited for Jeff to put some bandages on your bleed.

After getting bandaged, you and Newt walked over to the box. Everyone was still there, talking and murmuring about the new greenie. "So greenie is still acting cold huh?" Gally scoffed as he looked like he was gonna punch him. "hey, hey," you say as you push Gally back. "I'll help you, if you don't slam me against a metal wall again," you said with a chuckle. You put out a hand and smiled. Everyone stared at you cautiously. "fine." He finally let out, taking your hand and walking with you. You signaled the boys to get back to their jobs.

"So what is this? And who are you?" He said fiddling his thumbs. "I'm y/n, and you are..." you asked. "Adam, but i don't know who i am," he said embarrassed. "don't worry, we all didn't know anything except our names at first, but we'll make new memories!" You said showing him the Glade. "so explain this place to me?" He asked with a small grin. "it's called the Glade. We only have four rules, do your part, don't hurt another glader, never go beyond those walls unless you're a runner, ummm...don't touch the 'girl'" You said as you rolled your eyes at the last rule. "who's the girl?" He asked as he looked around. "i'm the only girl here, heh." You said awkwardly as you zoomed passed him. "Oh...don't worry i won't hurt you and i'm sorry about the whole metal cage thing," he said blushing. "No i get it, I kinda did the same when I arrived especially cause I was the only girl," you said patting his shoulder.

Newt eyed the two of you being a little too close and decided to butt in. "Hey y/n! Come help me with these will ya?" He asked as he pointed to the garden in his British accent. You smiled and walked over to the garden. "This is Newt, he's second in-command and first is Alby," you said as you wore your gloves. "nice to meet ya lad," Newt said holding out a hand. You smiled shyly at Adam and yelled, "ALBY! COME HELP THE GREENIE!" "why am i the greenie?" Adam asked at the remark. "oh we just call the newbies that, i used to be called green bean and shebean for the past month, it was horrible," you said as you let out a sigh.

"So now I'm gonna be called that?" Adam said with a shocked face. "i mean i won't, adam," you giggled emphasizing the 'adam.' He smiled back and Alby walked over. "So this is Alby, he's our leader i guess," You explained as the two boys shook hands. "i'm got to go help Newt with the lettuce and cabbage so i'll see you during lunch," you said grinning as you turned to the garden. Adam waved and you spotted Newt sitting by the cabbage. "Now you're dating the greenie?" Newt asked as he hid his face in the basket of vegetables. "haha no, i was just giving him the tour and handed him off to Alby," you said helping him. "oh..." Newt said turning his frown into a smile. You saw his happiness and thought, wait so now Newt likes me? Was he jealous of me and Adam? I do like Newt kind of? i don't know, i don't know?!

"Hey are you gonna just hug that cabbage or gonna put it into the basket?" Zart asked slightly annoyed. You snapped back into reality and put the cabbage into the basket as Newt laughed. Zart just rolled his eyes and turned back to help with others. You flushed in embarrassment and just looked down at the vegetables.

After some time, you rushed to the maze entrance with Newt and everyone else. Minho and Thomas ran and for the first time they were excited?! They had smiles plastered onto their faces and the crowd was cheering for them. "whoa whoa whoa, what's going on?" Gally asked standing in front of the crowd, confronting the runners. The crowd cleared a way and the runners just fell onto the floor. "w-we fo-" "Here take this," you said handing them both a bottle of water. Without any response they just chugged the bottles. You were shocked, you've never seen them this tired or exhausted. "so?" Chuck asked as he sat next to Thomas. "we found a way out, a way out of here, the maze."

SORRY THIS CHAPTER WAS KINDA USELESS EXECPT THE ENDING BUT I JUST WANTED TO ADD ANOTHER CHARACTER, ADAM TO SHOW THAT NOW YOU'RE NOT THE GREENIE ANYMORE! 🤠🤚 PLEASE TELL ME WHO YALL WANNA END UP WITH CAUSE JUST IN CASE I CAN ALWAYS CHANGE WHO.
