Trigger

Text is nothing.

When I read words,

I skip the trigger warning.

They have never triggered me.

But when I hear it, aloud,

from an adult I trust...

I spiral out of control.

I told you that I wasn't ok.

I wanted to tell everyone

that I was crying,

that they'd hurt me,

that I wasn't ok.

But it took me precious time

to get the nerve to tell you.

You apologized,

and I thank you for that,

but I need to get it together

before someone connects the dots.
