After going out to eat, we finally arrived at Dylan's house, and it looked kinda different; maybe because I haven't been here in a while, since I was always busy with my boyfriend Jesse, but that's over now."Before unloading your stuff, I need to ask my mom if you can stay here. I'm sure she'll say yes, but if she doesn't, you'll stay here anyway. There's no way I'm gonna let you live in a box." Dylan opened the door, and we saw his mom sitting on the couch looking through a magazine.
"Mom, look who I brought." He moved out of my way and his mom had the biggest expression on her face.
"Mya, why, you grown so much. I haven't seen you in the longest time."
"It's glad to see you Mrs. Bartley." I said giving her the biggest hug.
"Mom, Mya doesn't have anywhere to stay. Is it okay if she stay here for a while?"
"Absolutely! She's practically family. She can stay as long as she wants."
"Thanks mom, I'll go get her stuff." Dylan said smirking at me.
"Thank you very much Mrs. Bartley. This really means a lot." I followed Dylan outside to help get the rest of my bags.
"Careful, they're really heavy."
"I know." Dylan said. Noticing it now, he had the most beautiful eyes ever; it was a soft blue-green color.
After bringing the bags in, I immediately went to the bathroom. The bathroom looks just how I remember it.
"Where am I sleeping, Mrs. Bartley?"
"Why, we have no more rooms available, unless you would like to sleep in Dylan's room? Or the couch?"
"How does the couch feel?"
"Extremely lumpy if you're a person who often lies on their side." And frankly, I was someone who loved laying on their side.
"I guess I'll take Dylan's room." Dylan and I grabbed my bags and went straight to his room. Though it's been months since I've been to Dylan's house, it room, looked completely different before.
Before, he had a smaller bed, his walls were this hideous dark blue color, and his room always smelled like lemon. Now his room was this soft beige color, he has a queen size bed, and his room smelled like this manly, but delicious cologne fragrance. If there is one thing that hasn't changed about his room, is that he still had the picture framed on his wall of us in the fourth grade. The same picture is hanging in my wall as well; or at least 'was' hanging on my wall, when that used to be my room.
"I see you changed your room around completely. It looks nice."
"Thanks, I guess because I matured, I thought I needed a room makeover."
"So where do I put my stuff and where exactly am I sleeping?"
"Well, you can sleep with me in my lovely queen size bed, or just sleep on that dry, hardened floor? Your choice?"
"Okay, I'll sleep with you. But I just hope you're still not a rough sleeper, because I can remember you being such a rough sleeper, when we used to nap together." I said joking, but saying that out loud, I realized how awkward it is that I just told my best friend I'll sleep with him.
