Hey Journal,
I didn't even know I left you in the car, I'm terribly sorry. I bet you were sweating terribly in here. Wait, what am I saying, you're just a book! Anyways, I'm in the waiting room for Mya because my dad spilled soymilk all over Mya and she starting getting all sweaty, and starting breathing heavily, and it was just really hard to see.
My dad can be a real ass sometimes. Sorry for my language Journal, I just which sometimes that I didn't have him for a father. Honestly, right now, my dad makes Mya's dad look like a great father. But Mya's dad was a great father, just not to her. (I know that sounded stupid, since that is his only daughter) He was just so strict, and keep this between us, but I think I've seen Mr. Winford beat on Mya's mom once when I came over. I wasn't trying to spy on them though, just took a peep and saw a huge belt fly into Mrs. Winford's face.
I hope Mya's okay, but I wish my parents didn't have to arrive to wait with mw. It's somewhat my mom's fault too about all this. Why doesn't she ever talk to dad? What is she scared of him?
...
Maybe; she scared of him. So scared that every time he gives her that look, she stutters. That every time his voice gets louder, she backs down. That every time he ask to see in her private, she comes out with a tear rolling down her cheek. What is he? Does he beat on my mom as well? No, it couldn't be Journal. My own dad, beating on such a strong loving woman like my mom? Who knows? Because I sure don't.
---
My instincts were right Journal,
My dad does beat on my mom. I sat down with her when my dad left to walk outside the hospital for a bit, and asked her “Mom, does Dad beat on you?” And immediately, she started crying. She made me promise to keep shut about it. I asked why doesn't she call the police, but she said “It's complicated sweetie. It's love, but tough love. You wouldn't understand.” I gave my mom a huge hug after that. She's such an inspiration. My mom is a true hero.
A couple minutes later, Mya's mom came. My mom told her what happened. She used some big words that I really didn't understand so I wouldn't what they were talking about since I was right there, but from what I got out of, she was pretty mad at my dad for what he did, I mean who wouldn't be mad? My dad was probably attempting to murder Mya, maybe that is why he treats her so bad. My dad is a lunatic, but never will I ever be afraid of him. My job right now is to protect Mya, that's it.
We went from dealing with Jesse at the restaurant, to coming home with a surprise of seeing my dad (which wasn't a good surprise), to rushing Mya at the hospital. All of this in one day. Poor Mya, she's in the hospital the day of our first date. I really hope she's okay. But, the doctors are calling us to come see her now. I gotta go Journal, I'll tell you what happened afterwards later.
~Dylan.
