It was 11:34 in the morning, and I'm assuming I smacked my alarm clock once too many. I actually have no idea why my alarm clock had not been disabled yet. It's spring break. If anything, this alarm clock needs to be unplugged. I got out of bed, but Dylan was nowhere to be found. But on my dresser, there is a note on a rose-colored post-it note. It said:
Hey beautiful,
Want to have an awesome time today? Wear something pretty and be ready by 12n. I hope this cheers you up.
~Dylan.

I totally forgot Dylan and I were supposed to do something today, but I have no time to get ready! He'll be here any minute!

After taking a long-enough shower, I already knew what I was going to wear; I curled my hair, picked out my clothes and was already ready. I hope Dylan didn't think it was too 'much'.

I waited downstairs for about three minutes and I was STARVING! Hopefully, whatever we were doing today, involved food. It was 12:05 and Dylan was still no-show. Him being late, kinda reminded me of Jesse, except, Jesse was always thirty-five minutes late. That was typical Jesse. Too bad we're over now. I miss him too much.
12:09 and I was getting worried. I know he's only nine minutes late, but I was a very impatient person; that's one bad flaw that I had.

Dylan finally came, and I immediately jumped into his arms. He was holding a bouquet of roses.

"You look amazing," He said hugging me ever so tight.

"Here, I got these for you."

"Aww Dylan, you are so sweet." I said sniffing the beautiful roses. They smelled amazing.

"So, are you ready to go?"

"Yeah, I'm ready. I can't to see what you planned for us." I locked my arm into his as he walked me to his car.

I have to say, I never got this kind of special treatment when I was with Jesse. For one, Jesse never planned any dates for us. It was always 'I'll do whatever.' That was classic Jesse. The last time he got me roses was Valentine's Day, which was two months ago. He never got dressed up for me unless we were going somewhere with a lot of chicks or guys with low self-esteem. But I was surprised Dylan did all of this, just for me. I'm just his best friend, not his girlfriend or life companion. Maybe this was his way of helping me get over Jesse, and if this was his plan, he's doing an awesome job at it; because instead of me missing him right now, I'm actually glad it's over.

We arrived at the special destination, and it was this beautiful fresh-green meadow looking area.

"Ready to know why we're here?"

"Yes! I'm dying to know, tell me!"

"Okay, I know you used to talk about it all the time, about having a picnic-brunch and so, we're having a picnic!" No way. He did not just say we were having a picnic, a real-life picnic, in a beautiful meadow, with that perfect amount of sun and that just-right beautiful breeze.
I almost didn't want to believe him. That he actually pulled it off.

"What? You're joking right?"

"No, seriously, I got the basket of food right here."

I opened the basket and it was filled with foods and snacks; usually when people think of me, double bacon cheeseburgers come to mind, not turkey sandwiches, I can eat healthy every now and then.

"Dylan, you are seriously the most thoughtful person ever. I any believe you did this for me. I always told Jesse about it, but he'd always say 'One day, and it'll happen'. Sorry if I always bring his name up, everything I see reminds me of him and it's just—

"Hey, I understand. But thinking about him, will ruin this perfect day to have an awesome picnic, and to spend time with my best-friend." He parked the car, it out and opened my door so I come out. What a gentleman.

Walking along the meadow was beautiful. Everything was just beautiful. The view, the fresh green grass, and even the air. It smelled like blossoms. I was most definitely ready to enjoy this picnic with my very best friend Dylan.
