That night I couldn't sleep. I pulled on my shoes, a jacket, and a hat from Wilbur before heading outside to go for a walk. The night air was cool and the town was quiet. As I walked, I hoped that Tommy and Will were safe wherever they were. I walked until I reached the edge of town and I sat. I took my hat off and set it next to me, letting my hair cover my neck to keep it warm. A while after I got there, I heard walking from behind me.

"Hey, (y/n)," I heard from what sounded like Schlatt.

He sat down next to me and waited for a response. When he didn't get one, he began talking again.

"I know that you're probably mad but just hear me out on why I did what I did. Will is a psychopath and Tommy is no better. As president I need to do what's best for everyone here and if that means kicking some people out then so be it."

"Schlatt, they were the closest thing I had to family and you just took them away from me."

"They weren't safe for the town. I'm doing what's best now."

"Maybe not for everyone," I responded, standing and heading back into town.

As I walked I felt like someone was following me. I shook it off and made it back to my house where the door was cracked and the light inside was on.

"Hello?" I asked, pushing the door open more.

I was about to step inside when I was pushed from behind through the doorway. I turned to see who it was and immediately calmed down.

"Tommy, how did you get back into town?"

"Wilbur and I, we made a new place to live. It's safe. I came to tell you about it but can we go upstairs or something?"

I nod and follow Tommy upstairs to my room. We go into my room and I close and lock the door behind me. Tommy takes a seat on my bed and I sit on my desk.

"Tommy, what the fuck happened today?"

"I'm not sure. Will and I have found a place underground and away from here for now that we'll be safe at. I need you to do something for us though, I need you to be a spy for us."

"Tommy, I'm not sure that's a good idea."

"I have walkie talkies here from Will, I just need you to let us know if something important happens."

I was about to respond to Tommy when I heard a knock at my door.

"Tommy hide, I'll be right back."

I unlock the door to my room and go downstairs. I check the clock to see it's almost midnight. I open the door to find Schlatt there holding my hat.

"You forgot your hat earlier," he said, holding it out for me.

I grabbed it hesitantly and looked around outside.

"Um, thanks. Have a good night Schlatt."

I had closed the door about halfway when Schlatt pushed it back open and stepped inside.

"Listen, (y/n), I know you're a smart girl. If Tommy or Will come back, I need you to tell me so. We can't just have them walking freely through the town, and if I find you're helping them, you're gonna be in trouble."

"Of course Schlatt, I would never go against the law."

I glanced at the steps but Schlatt seemed to have taken it another way. He put his hand on my shoulder and looked me in the eyes.

"Good to hear, now go get some rest and I'll see you in the morning."

Schlatt walked outside and closed the door behind him, leaving me baffled in my living room holding Wilbur's hat. I wrapped my hand around it and walked back upstairs to find Tommy sitting on my bed.

"So, now you're all buddy-buddy with Schlatt?" Tommy asked as I set the hat down on my dresser and pulled my coat off.

"Tommy listen to me, you really think I'd be buddy-buddy with the man who ripped my brothers away from me?"

"(y/n), I don't know who to trust right now."

"Tommy are you kidding me, you came to me asking for help now you're telling me that you don't trust me?"

"That's not what I said!"

"That's what you implied! Just... get out."

Tommy sighed then got up and walked out. When I heard the door downstairs open and close, I knew he'd gone. I was about to climb into bed when I heard another knock.

"Holy shit who else is gonna show up tonight?" I asked myself as I went back downstairs.

I opened the door to find Schlatt again.

"I've been thinking and I know you're probably sick of me for today but how would you like to be secretary of state?"

"Aren't I a little young for that?"

"Yes or no?"

"Yes. Now I'll see you tomorrow Schaltt."

I close and lock the door then go upstairs and climb into bed. I look at my nightstand to where the walkie talkies that Tommy brought is. I pick it up and turn it on.

"Wilbur? Are you there?" I ask through it.

"(y/n)! Thank god! Are you alright? Has Schlatt done anything to you?"

"No, he asked me to be secretary of state though. I said yes so I can be in the know."

"Good, get some rest kiddo. You're gonna need it."
