tw: mention of death

( sayaka's pov ! )

june 18th, wednesday ? 

it was morning, i think. i haven't really checked the time.

i didn't sleep a lot tonight. i was mostly up.

i just stared at kiri during the times that i was up. her sleeping peacefully. her long, light purple hair. it's also soft. not to sound like i'm obsessed with her, but i touched it when she was asleep. just wanted to know how it feels like.

i also noticed that she wears those gloves when she's asleep too.

i grabbed my phone to check the time. well, 9 am.

"good morning, sayaka"

i turn back at kiri and see her awake.

"ah- good morning kiri! did you sleep well?"

"yes... you?"

"me too!"

i felt bad lying to kiri. maybe i shouldn't do that again.

"what time is it?"

"9 am"

"oh... alright"

"are you hungry?"

"kind of.. but it doesn't matter"

i smiled at how cute she was.

"let's see if the food's ready, then... come on"

we got out of the tent, and there was my aunt and uncle, each eating a bagel.

"good morning"

kiri said to them with a smile. god, she's so pretty when she smiles.

"good morning!"

my aunt said as she handed both of us bagels.

we ate as we talked, and i noticed something. i saw a red mark... under kiri's glove.

what could this be? something so terrible that she wears gloves even when she goes swimming?

i'm curious... but i don't want to ask if she will feel bad.

"are you guys ready?"

"we just have to get dressed"

i said and kiri & i went to our tent to get dressed... one by one.

and so we did... and later began our walk.

my aunt and uncle were walking in front of us, a few meters in between.

meanwhile, i was taking pictures of the trees and talking to kiri. she seemed like she was having fun.

suddenly, i tripped on a rock and was about to fall... until she held me from my hand.

"sayaka! you should be more careful, there are a lot of rocks here"

"oh... sorry... and thanks!"

she gave me a small smile and we kept on walking...

holding hands.

she didn't let go. neither did i.

so we held hands in the whole rest of the walk.

it was very nice. how she didn't let go...

"and we're back! what will you two do now?"

"swim, of course!"
