*Chapter Twelve*

*Gilbert's POV*

I sat in the window of my Squib; Aunt Ruth's flat guest room in the North of France. It was quite different then being home, but it was very posh. My parents still won't tell me why I had to come along or what they are doing here..it's awfully boring, I never thought I'd say this but I miss being back at school. My mothers sister and her husband never had kids so whenever they leave I just sit here and listen to Scorpius talk about how we should be back at school learning. I don't necessarily disagree with him but he won't shut up.

Scorpius-"D'you know what? I'm gonna go get dinner, Mum left like 50 pounds for us so...is there anything you want?"

Gilbert-"No I'm alright, thanks."

Scorpius-"Are you sure Gibbs? They won't be back for ages..it's nearly eight."

Gilbert-"Just get me whatever your having."

Scorpius-"Okay,I'll be back."

Gilbert-"Okay."

This house is freezing I feel like I'm inside of a refrigerator. I went down into the lounge, turned on the radio and plopped down on the sofa. I wonder if she's found anything interesting yet..maybe I should send an owl? No that would take ages to get there. I'll just wait.

French man on radio-"demain il ne devrait pas faire trop chaud, il devrait y avoir une brise légère avec de la pluie." I rolled my eyes and flipped channels. I grabbed the wizarding world radio from my fathers bag and finally, I could get the Hogwarts daily talk show.

Random man-"Yeah well, there's no telling. Now it may not have been confirmed but there have been some talk of something pretty bloody scary, roaming through the Forbidden Forest."

Man number two-"Is that right?"

Random man-"Yeah." I flipped off the radio. What if Jeannette goes in there alone and gets into trouble?! I ran to the guest room and ruffled through my bag for parchment. Sh*t what is this gonna do? It won't get there for days. What if she wasn't listening to the radio? It's not like they broadcast it through the castle. Well, Scorpius isn't back yet...what will it hurt. I apparated to the castle and walked the halls quietly looking for her. I know I technically need to be seventeen to apparate but I've seen my brother and my parents do it well enough to know how it works. I hid in the restricted section of the library and hoped she'd come down. Soon enough there she was..she walked in quietly, with her friends and sat down looking at the entrance. Finally they left and she was alone.

Gilbert-"Psst" She looked around but blew it off. *Whispers* "Jeannette.." She stood up and walked around. I pulled her in.

Jeannette-"Gilbert? What the hell?! What in Merlins beard are you doing here? I thought you left?"

Gilbert-"I haven't got a lot of time.."

Jeannette-"What.? What are you on about?"

Gilbert-"Just listen, did you listen to the radio?"

Jeannette-"Yeah why?"

Gilbert-"Oh okay, so you aren't going into the forest.."

Jeannette-"We might, so you need to leave before they come and see you."

Gilbert-"Are you mad? You're going out there with something out there!?"

Jeannette-"No it's fine, it was just the centaurs messing around."

Gilbert-"Oh.."

Jeannette-"Yeah so..we'll be okay.."

Gilbert-"Okay, well I'll see you in a few days then.."

Jeannette-"Wait you..you apparated here just to tell me that?"

Gilbert-"I-" I felt so embarrassed and stupid. "Well yeah.." She smiled at me and I looked down at her. I can't believe it but I actually miss hanging out with her. Ever since Wyatt, I haven't found anyone to really trust besides her.

Jeannette-"So Uhm..how's..wait where are you again?"

Gilbert-"France."

Jeannette-"Right, how's France?"

Gilbert-"Honestly it's totally boring...there's nothing to do..I've just been reading the entire time. Mum and Dad left me and Scorp to do something so he's picking up food right now."

Jeannette-"Oh..well don't get into trouble."

Gilbert-"Me? Never." She laughed.

Jeannette-"Well..go on then." She shooed me away. "Hurry before they see you."

Gilbert-"Right, yeah..." I didn't want to leave. I wanted to stay and go with them. With her. But I sighed and backed up. "I'll see you soon."

Jeannette-"See you soon." I apparated back to the flat and sat on the sofa. As soon as I plopped down, Scorpius walked in with the food.

Scorpius-"So, Fish..or soup?"
