The Gifted |a Malfoy love story|

*Chapter Nineteen*

It was now December 15th, closer to the Yule Ball. We were directed to an empty room on the sixth floor for dance lessons. We were all required to go.

Gilbert-"Oh please, I'm not going to that."

Jeannette-"We have to. I bet you're a sh*t dancer." I teased him and he took a step closer to me.

Gilbert-"Oh yeah?"

Jeannette-"Mhm."

Gilbert-"Fine then, let's go." We headed in, McGonagall demonstrated the basics with Will and we all laughed at him for it.

McGonagall-"Alright, pick a partner please." Before I knew it, Faye Green walked in the middle of Gilbert and me.

Faye-"Gilbert?"

Gilbert-"Uhm." He looked at me, then down at her. "Sure." I gave them a small awkward smile and sat down. As they danced I looked next to me to see my sister slumped over.

Jeannette-"Hey..you should ask someone to dance."

Amelia-"No it's fine, they wouldn't want to anyway." As soon as she said that, a boy in her year walked up and asked her to dance. She gave me a surprised look and took his hand. I pulled a book out and read it while not paying attention to everyone dancing.

*Gilberts POV*

I danced with Faye, making sure to keep my distance as best as possible. I turned and saw Jeannette sitting alone reading. I feel bad, she was meant to be my partner.. not Faye.

Faye-"You're a lovely dancer Gilbert."

Gilbert-"Thank you." My eyes stayed on Jen.

Faye-"But you weren't expecting to show me that were you?"

Gilbert-"Hmm?" I looked back to her and she stopped.

Faye-"Go ask her." She noticed that I'd been staring. I smiled at her and she took a seat.

*Jeannettes POV*

As I sat there a body was standing over me. Gilbert reached out his hand for me. I took it and we walked over to the middle of the floor where everyone else was dancing. Gilberts fingers traced my back slowly sending shivers through out my body. His hand then rested comfortably on my waist. He took his right hand in mine and we started to move. McGonagall walked around observing everyone when she came to a stop in front of us.

McGonagall-"Very nice Mr. Malfoy. But don't be so distant, you are supposed to have fun." She pushed me closer into him and walked away. I almost stumbled because her shoving me so close to him had me startled. I'd never been this close to him before, at least not in this way. Not with this feeling inside of me. He looked down at me.

Gilbert-"I told you I was good."

Jeannette-"Is there anything you're not good at." I rolled my eyes playfully.

Gilbert-"Wouldn't you like to find out."

Jeannette-"Shut up." He chuckled and spun me around. I liked the way he took the lead. How he was so gentle but firm at the same time. His eyes are so blue, so hypnotizing. The song stoped and so did he, letting me go.

McGonagall-"Now if you think you need more practice, you may stay but you can leave if that's what you wish." Gilbert and I both walked in the same direction almost hitting into each other.

Both at the same time-"Sorry." He backed up.

Gilbert-"Ladies first." He held his hand out and I walked in front of him. We got out into the hall.
