"Rule number two, just don't get attached to somebody you could lose."

The astronomy tower is quiet and empty. Stepping up the last steps, I trip. My knees hit the rough ground as I try to catch myself with my hands. A small grunt escapes my lips when I reach the floor.

I feel a pair of eyes land on me and look up to see a pair of bright blue eyes. Harry. I smile to myself.

The feelings of annoyance and irritation seem to fade away at the sight of his smile. Don't get me wrong, Harry is very good looking. But our relationship is strictly platonic. Sibling-like, if you will. As if he replaced Hermione's place in my heart for a sibling.

That's what makes it different from any other close friendship I've had with a boy. Harry's like my secret therapist. I've never really gotten to properly hang out with him due to my bad blood with my sister though.

"Josephine, are you ok?" Harry runs up to me holding out a hand.

"Yea, yea I'm fine." I say taking his hand. He guides me to my feet, "Thank you." Harry smiles at me, but that smiles fades when he looks down towards my knee. Scrunching my eyebrows, I follow his stare. My stockings are stained with bright red blood, drops  landing on my  black Mary-Janes.

"Let me fix that up for you," Harry pulls out his wand, "Episkey." The scrapes on my knees fade away at the flick of his wrist.

"Thank you, Harry." I grin. He returns the smile.

"Why are you up here?" He questions.

"I could ask you the same."

"Got me there." He lets go of my hand to walk back over to the balcony, placing his hands on the railing. I follow him, placing myself right next to him.

The Great Lake resembles the night sky at this time of day. The light bouncing off reminding me of the stars that float in the sky at night. With the sun now fully out, the water glistens with beauty.

"I came up here to get away from everyone," I answer his question.

He turns his head to look at me, my eyes still on the water, "Oh, I should leave then."

"No, no, you're fine." I turn to him, "I enjoy your company, it's peaceful."

"Okay then." Harry turns his head back to the lake. I take a deep breath and do the same. His company really is peaceful. Something about his aura calms me down, must be that 'chosen one' magic causing it.

Harry and I don't talk the rest of the time we are up here. The silence is comforting, it gives me time to think. I need to talk to Lila. I don't want to, but I must. I need to figure out what happened and why it did. I shouldn't, and can't, leave that to my imagination.

Class is going to start soon, "Care to walk to class with me?" I asked Harry.

He turns his head to look at me, "I'd love to."

Professor Snape teaches Defense Against the Dark Arts. In other words, Lila's father teaches Defense Against the Dark Arts. Not only does her father teach the course, she's supposed to be in my class. While deciding whether or not to sit next to her, I walk into the classroom. I hear the bells signaling class is beginning, giving me little time to think about seating. Deciding to not start drama in the friend group, I sit next to Lila.

She turns to me, "Where the hell have you been?"

"None of your bloody business." I snapped. I'm not in the mood to show her kindness. Being mean is easier than being nice.
