Loving Flowers

My Daisy, you are so lovely
Look at your pure white petals, so soft and pretty
I hold you in my hand so you can feel touched in a way I can't
I see the other flowers like you, but none of them grew taller than you
You're special, Daisy
White petals sway in the wind
I hope summer doesn't come quickly
You'll dry up and leave me, Daisy
The weather is getting warmer
The sun is raging
My heart stops in my chest
I rush home, you're wilted
I keep my head, I add water to you
So delicate, so precious, and so very pretty
I wish you could just say, "Rose, my darling, don't worry for me!"
But you'll never say that, for you are only a flower
I water you and make sure you have water but I wish to have love too
You stand out besides the others, maybe it's the slight blue in your petals or the vibrant yellow of your head
But summer is here and you are gone
I wished time stopped that day
Stopped for you, my dear Daisy
My beautiful light, my Daisy
Your petals are torn and browned
Daisy, my flower, my Dearest
My chest aches for you
You are only a flower but I knew you
