Angels Fly

Oh, angel
You fell from the greying sky to be with me
The others are jealous of thee for thee is most beautiful
thyns silver grey hair but youthful face gives one's eyes the most angelic picture
Others might try to steal thou away from me but my fists are ready
thou are not fragile, not weak in the slightest
But thou must be tired of gliding through the sky to find me, angel
Lay on my bed and rest, thou must need it
When you are well rested, thee can fly again
thyns pure white wings flapping on towards the greying sky
But do not leave me just yet
Will I get the chance to say goodbye, angel?
Even now, the sinking fear of losing such a beauty is rising
Just one more day
One more week
One more year
A lifetime, perhaps
When I die, angel, will thou remember me?
All I ask is for thyn friendship, angel
Visit me and I will welcome thou in my home
I always keep a fire lit for thou
I keep an extra pillow on my bed for thou
Do not forget me, and I will not forget thou
Promise me, angel, please do
Even as I see you flying away from me, I still feel thyns ghostly touch on my frozen skin, frostbitten from the cold
I still feel thyns soft warm lips on my forehead
I still feel the strong beat of your heart by my ear
I will never forget it
So, I hope you will remember as well
The connection we shared
When I am an old man, with grown children and a wife
I will still remember you, angel
