Roses

Sweet kisses of your lips fluttered on my flushed skin
Wishing we could stay in this moment forever
You holding me and whispering that you love me
Even when we fought, you still said that you loved me after
Our love grew stronger
We moved in together, your long blonde hair grew but you never cut it
My brown hair grew as well, I kept it long like you
We grew red roses, my only reminder of you when they took you away from my touch
My Dearest, Sara, they took you away
They will come for me too, my Dearest
I took care of your ripe strawberries that you loved so dearly
I had a bowl that I couldn't finish, the whip cream became slush and the strawberries became rotten
Oh, how I miss you, Sara
I feel nothing but the emptiness of losing you
The blanket you slept with is still unwashed
I'm afraid that you will be washed away with your sweet smell of roses
Now I sit, three years later, still heartbroken
They knocked down my door, I will soon be with you, my Dearest
I weep that I will never be happy again
I weep tears of anguish and rage
They took my Sara, my darling, my wife
I'll die here, in this dirt filled cell of grey wall and no life
I'll see you soon, my Dearest, Sara
The roses have a new meaning
I remember you through your deep red roses
The only thing keeping me going was your roses
I will meet you soon
My breathing is unsteady, my heart is slowing, my ears pop and fuzz the noises surrounding my limp body
I will see you in a minute more, Sara
