"Tia, we're here." Derek said, gently shaking me. That was the best sleep I had gotten since before all of this happened.
"Wow, that was a quick trip."
"Yeah, mostly because you slept the whole way." He laughed with that cute grin.
"Oops, I didn't even realize it. Holy, my hair must look amazing then." He laughed even more, and I just smiled back at him. I pulled out my pocket mirror and checked myself out. My makeup and hair stayed almost perfectly.
"Let's go get settled into our new home." I smile to the thought of it being our home, even if it was just for a few months. I was almost hoping id meet a guy at school to help get my attention off Derek.
"Derek, in hungry. Can we stop and get good before we move in?"
"Of course. Let's see if we can find a good diner around here." We got of the plane, once again, fighting to get through security. I was surprised at how many people were in the airport. It was ten o'clock on a Sunday. Who would be traveling? Right, those people who have the money to take a three day vacations to a different country. My stomach was yelling at me. The growls were getting louder and louder.
"Ti- Hayleigh," I laughed as he caught himself. "Are you okay back there? I just keep hearing growling noises. I'm not sure if you're hungry or if your trying to be a dog." He smiles wide. I smiled back.
"The was lame, Derek. Come on, you're young! You should know better things than that." We both just laughed. We exited the airport; we saw a bunch if cars lined up at the pick up circle. There were a bunch of drivers holding signs with names on them.
"Derek... That sign has my name on it." I looked at him, confused but mostly scared.
"It's okay. That's our driver." I was relieved. You never know who could try to take you from an airport, especially when you just changed your name, and you're in an unfamiliar place. I got close to Derek, just in case. We walked over to car, and he out my stud in the trunk, then opened the back door for me. We got in and Derek immediately chimed in.
"Driver, where's the best diner around here?"
"Oh, I know just the place! It's just around the corner." I got excited as my stomach felt like it was eating away at itself. I looked at Derek; he was watching out the window, but I could see all the lights reflecting on his eyes. Boy did they shine. The driver pulled up to a small, but beautiful looking building. It had one a glass door, almost directly in the middle of the building, with wall size windows on either side. When you looked in, you could see mainly red interior. The cushions on the seats and stools, the back cushion. The counter was a dark oak color, and very glossy. There was a single cash register on the counter. There were pictures of artists from the sixties all over the wall. It even had a jukebox! I smiled as I pulled the door open, holding it for Derek. He smiled, nodding his head at me to thank me. We walked in, and the smell of bacon and eggs filled the air. I was really excited. I hadn't eaten much the last few days and I could really go for some bacon and eggs.
"How may I help ya'll tonight?" A woman, with a pink waitress dress, said to us. She had talk brown hair. And by talk I meant curly and up like the beehive look that everyone that was so cool back then.
"Just a table for two, two cups of coffee, and some menus," Derek said smiling at the woman.
"Of course. There's a table right over there ya'll can sit at. Here's your menus and I'll have your coffee up in just a few minutes." Out waitress walked away; I looked at Derek.
"This is a cute little place." I said smiling at him.
"It really is. It smells great to!" Just then, our waitress walked back, setting one coffee in front of me and the other by Derek.
"Thank you." I smiles at her. She smiles back kindly.
"My pleasure, sweetie. Now, what can I get ya'll?"
"I'll have the scrambled eggs with bacon and toast, and I'll also have to flapjacks with butter and maple syrup please." Derek and her looked at me, both with wide eyes.
"A big appetite for such a little lady." She joked.
"I feel like I haven't eaten in days." I joked back, even though it was partially the truth.
"And for you, sir?"
"I'll just have some pancakes, please."
"Sure thing. I'll have those right up for you." Once again, the waitress walked away.
"She's right, you do have a big appetite." Derek said, laughing.
"I know. I feel as if I should weigh three hundred pounds." We both laughed as we watched the waitress bring out the food.

About twenty minutes later, we were back in the car, on our way to the new house. I watched out the window, not seeing much of anything besides trees. Derek and I stayed fairly quiet the whole way. I had basically eaten myself into good coma. It was so good though. Just as I started to feel myself fall asleep, Derek shook me.
"We're here." He had a big smile on his face. We grabbed our stuff out of the back of the car and made our way inside. I noticed that the house was already decorated with furniture. I was greatful. I walked to a room, dropping my stuff on the floor. I plopped into the bed, falling asleep almost instantly.
