"Sub-zero, block the door."Under his mask, Izuku grinned as, within seconds, ice covered the door to the room.
"Good, now noone will disturb us."
Dabi looked down at the two children before him. As soon as Giran left, they, very eagerly, ushered him away from the others, into one of the back rooms. Just the three of them, where noone else could see them.
Or stop them.
Todoroki barely moved. He watched his ice cover the door in silence, unsure as to what would happen next. Izuku had never been good at sharing his plans, a weakness Todoroki was beginning to hate.
His own brother was right in front of him, and he was clueless as to what he was suppost to say, do, or anything. He knew nothing and he hated it.
All he could do, is hope Izuku started to explain something soon.
"Sorry for acting strange, but I have been looking forward to this moment for a while. It's great to meet you, Dabi." Todoroki could almost hear the grin, spreading over Izuku's face as he spoke. "Though, your taller than I expected. You should have told me about that."
Izuku turned to Todoroki, who felt his blood rin cold. He was probably suppost to say something, but what?
"He's taller than I expected too. I haven't seen him for a while."
Izuku seemed pleased with this answer. Just the right mixture of mystery and information. Letting Dabi know Todoroki knew him, without revealing how.
Perfect.
"I suppose not. Though, I probably should have guessed. His dad was quite tall."
Dabi's eyes instantly shot to Izuku, though he didn't show any emotion on his face.
Izuku grabbed his hood and pulled it down, before slowly taking off his mask.
He gave Dabi a second to take in his appearance before talking again, hoping the villain recognised him from the sports festival.
"Yeah, I know who you are, no point in hiding that. In fact, the entire point of talking to you was because of that. You should thank us, by the way."
Now, Izuku's wide grin was on full display, his lips curling to show his teeth in something that didn't quite seem like joy.
"Oh really? And why should I belive you?"
Dabi kept his expression clear, though he already knew that he was caught. Why else would they bother will all of the theatrics, unless they knew the truth.
"I can assure you, I got an expert opinion on the matter. I'm surprised you haven't recognised him yet. Though, that's not important. After all, you still haven't thanked us."
Izuku was bursting with excitement. More than anything else, he wanted to see the moment Dabi realised his father's killers were the two children in front of him.
He wanted to see if he could wipe that emotionless look off of his face.
Dabi, however, didn't want to give him the satisfaction.
"I suppose your expert is icy over there."
Todoroki suddenly looked up at Dabi, and, through the mask, Dabi could see his eyes widen.
One grey eye, one blue.
Dabi paused, looking back at Todoroki, with veiled surprise as he recognised the boy he hadn't seen in years.
Izuku grinned. Perhaps it hadn't been as dramatic as he wanted, but it was something, at least.
"So, it seems you recognised him. I was wondering when that would happen."
Todoroki didn't say anything, he just stood there, eyes locked with the fiery blue eyes if the villain before him. Of the brother he thought he lost.
Dabi was the first to speak.
"I didn't expect to see you here, Shoto. So, you decided to turn villain. Shame the old man couldn't have seen this."
Todoroki cleared his throat and started to take off his mask and hood.
"He did. He knew."
That was all he could get out before he felt his throat dry up and close it on itself, leaving him staring at the floor, hiding the shame he felt.
Though he had no idea why.
"Yep! Endeavour knew! We made sure of that. I mean, obviously we did. What would make his last moments more painful than knowing that his little masterpiece, his own son, was the one to kill him!"
For a moment, Dabi's cold exterior cracked. For a moment, surprise crossed his face and, perhaps, pride, in the little brother he left so many years before, in the boy he never realised would come to follow in his footsteps, to achieve his own dream long before Dabi ever could have.
Izuku grinned, his back to the boy he promised he loved, his eyes focused on the villain before him, who's facade slowly broke.
"So then Dabi, knowing the truth, are you still willing to join us?"
Dabi was the only one who noticed Todoroki, as tears slowly and silently fell down his face, shame and regret covering his face. He looked up at his brother, meeting the other boy's eyes, his face setting again into the cold stone of a villain, all reminders of those emotions gone.
Later, Dabi would ask about it, and would learn Todoroki had no memory of that and that it didn't make sense, because he was proud to be a villain, he was happy. He had no regrets.
And Dabi would not believe him.
But, for now, he just nods and reaches out a flaking hand, accepting the offer from the small, bunny boy before him.
Unaware of the wolf inside.
