Day 3- How To Tell (part 1)

KATARA'S POV:

"Tars, he's gonna kill me!" 

"I know, that's why I'm telling him!"

"No, you're not, if anything I'm taking the blame for you!" 

"Aang, you're driving me insane, here!"

We had flown back to the Fire Nation on Appa, and Aang and I were in the Jasmine Dragon replica. We were taking a cup of tea and trying to decide which one of us was going to tell Sokka that we're a couple now. I mean, of course he knows, but we're going to the South Pole in like 2 days and we might run into Psycho. We just want him to know know. You know?

"Spirits, Tars, just let me tell him!" I sighed. "Why can't we just tell him together?" I asked gently. I don't wanna fight with him. We've barely been a couple for a day. He frowned. "I'm sorry for yelling, Tara." I bit the inside of my cheek. "But I don't want you there when he kills me." I sighed. 

"Okay, kids, listen," Iroh said, walking over to the two of us. "I know that Sokka can get feisty at times, but trust me when I say he is definitely not going to hurt one of the two of you. Just tell him together. Anyways, I have a feeling he won't be that surprised." 

I smiled. Thank Spirits he decided to visit the replica for the day to make sure everything was going well. I turned to Aang and put on a begging face. "Please, Aang?" He sighed. "Fine. I can't say no to you, and you know that too damn well." 

I smiled and pecked him on the lips. "Thank you," I laughed. He smiled and placed a coin on the table, signalling Iroh, who sighed and rolled his eyes. "I am giving that to Zuko later." Aang smiled. "No you're not!" he called as the two of us walked out the door. 

"We're being so stupid," he laughed. "He already knows we're a couple and he's not gonna hurt us." I giggled as we continued walking back to the palace, talking about random shit. 

"Shit," he muttered suddenly. We were, like, 10 feet away from the castle's stairs. I raised my eyebrow before he grabbed my arm and pulled me into a bush. "Wh-" he gently put his hand over my mouth. "We're being ambushed,"  he whispered. I widened my eyes and hid behind him. 

20 unarmed men sprung out from behind the bushes. "Surrender, Avatar, you're outnumbered." I looked above me and grabbed Aang's arm, mouthing "hold them off for as long as you can." There's a window above me that leads to the room Zuko's in. I see him and Mai in there, talking. I just need to hit it to get his attention. 

I looked at the men surrounding us and gasped. The Dai Lee. What the actual fuck. 

"Let her go and I'll give you what you want," he said, standing up. I rolled my eyes. "Yeah, we're not doing that. No shits given if we're outnumbered, we were last time and look, oh wow, we won the war!" 

"We killed him," one of the men said with a raised eyebrow. I water-whipped him and he fell unconscious, and Aang earthbent him to the floor. Everyone froze for a second, and I took that to advantage to hit Zuko's window, breaking the glass. A faint, "what the fuck?!" was heard from above. 

All of the Dai Lee put on glaring looks and looked at Aang and I, who just sighed. I picked up the glass with water and started shooting it at the men. The ones who fell backwards, I knocked unconscious and Aang earthbent down. He started surrounding the does unconscious with fire so they couldn't get out. 

"Foolish little peasants. You think you can outmatch me?" Azula asked, coming out from behind two men. I rolled my eyes. "Please. I've done it so many times, I can do it in my sleep." She glared at me. 

"Azula, if you don't run, I'll fucking kill you," Zuko said, walking through the front doors with Mai behind him. "Oh, my dear brother. Did I not shoot you with lightning three days ago? Oh wait, it was two." I scoffed. "He's alive." She glared at me and shot a fireball, which I shot out with water. 

I grunted and water-whipped her in the eyes, causing her to scream, and then I shot the water to ice. I froze her down and Aang created an earth wall around her. "That was quick," Zuko said. I smirked. 

All of a sudden, I was being shoved to the side. I looked up and saw Azula coming after Aang, who was tackling her. She caused some fire, which Zuko put out, and Mai started shooting knives towards Azula. Aang airbent her away from him and put up an earth wall, which she used a fire blast to jump over. 

"Fuck you," I muttered, slapping her across the face with water. She scoffed and shot fire at me, which I just dissolved. This bitch. 

Some random Dai Lee guy came at my back, but I was able to block his shot with water. I grabbed his sword and bent it at his chin until he was on the floor, then froze him there and Mai stuck him there. 

"Fuck!" I turned to Aang and Azula, who... she had her fingers ready behind Aang. Pointed straight to his back. Zuko leaped in front of him and redirected the lightning to the air. Azula groaned. I turned back to Aang, "you okay?" he nodded and thanked Zuko with a nod of his chin, and Zuko nodded back. I nodded to him before turning around to fight some other idiots. 

I hit some guy and froze him to the floor, shattering a rock he made with my fist and before I could react, a shrill "NO!" from behind me made me turn around. Azula was there with a knife in her hand and a smirk on her lips, and before I knew it she was blasted with lightning in the leg. I turned around to find Zuko panting behind me. He looked down in front of me, and when I followed his gaze, Aang was there, lying on the floor, blood pooling from his upper left arm.
