Jason's POV

After what seemed like forever, I still didn't feel a pulse. I got up and shouted in frustration. I collapsed to the floor.

"She was all I had Leo, she loved me. I loved her. We were supposed to go to college together, have a life, live happily ever after. But I guess 'happily ever after' is just a myth. It doesn't exist. Now what am I supposed to do?" I put my head in my hands and tears came out of my eyes. Leo patted my back.

"I know, I know. I'm not very good at speeches, but I thought of her as a sister. You'll get through this. She'd want you too." Leo sat beside me and I looked towards him. His eyes shone and he looked like he was going to cry. He was staying strong, and so must I. The cave went silent and I just sat and thought about Piper.

Thump...............thump..............thump. In all the silence, you could just barely make out the sound of a heartbeat. It wasn't Leo's or mine, it came from Piper. I scrambled up and checked her pulse. It was faint, like she was just barely holding on.

"LEO! Get Festus! Fast! She's alive!" He nodded and ran out the cave door. I picked up Piper, very carefully. She seemed lighter when she's asleep. I made it out the cave, with Piper in my arms. Leo helped me with Piper and we set her on Festus. I got on last, and Leo took off.

About 10 minutes later, and a lot of shouting from Leo to tell Festus to hurry up, we finally saw the sight of camp. Leo landed Festus near the strawberry fields and I held Piper in my arms once again. I checked to make sure she was still breathing. Her heartbeat was getting slower and slower by the second, any longer and she will die, again. Leo yelled for help but no one came, the camp seemed to be deserted. I remembered it was January 27th, and most kids left the camp until summer.

I caught sight of two people in the distance. They looked like there were on the beach. Leo yelled again and they turned their attention towards us. They started running towards us. Percy and Annabeth. They came closer and closer and they stopped right in front of me. Piper was still draped in my arms.

"What happened?!" Annabeth exclaimed.

"No time, she needs medical attention. And fast!"

We ran further into camp and started seeing more people. They were all eating breakfast. As we past by them, an Apollo cabin member caught sight of us and got up and followed us. I ran to the infirmary and quickly set Piper down on one of the beds. The Apollo kid, Will Solace, ran to get ambrosia and nectar. I was afraid that wouldn't be enough to help her.

He fed her some ambrosia and nectar, then started attaching stuff to her arms. He had a worried look on his face and he motioned for me to wait outside. I nodded and walked outside. My legs felt shaky so I decided to sit down. Annabeth, Percy and Leo came over to me.

"So, you didn't answer my question, what happened?" Annabeth looked over to me.

I explained everything that happened and she sighed. She looked like she was about to cry too, and Percy grabbed her hand and held it. Oh how I wish Piper was here.

Annabeth spoke with a shaky voice "Th-those cyclops weren't just any cyclops. If you get any of their blood in your system, it poisons your body and that poison could be fatal. Did you, Leo or Piper get any of it on you?" I shook my head, Leo and I didn't have any scratches or cuts on us. I had seen that Piper had gotten a cut on her arm, and blood was also spewing from the cyclops' legs, where she was hitting him.

"Oh gods, I bet almost 99%, Piper had gotten some in her blood."
