And ANOTHER filler.
Amber’s POV
Oh my god, Where am I? This is not my house. Where's Logan/Tara? I didn’t like my situation. That demon butler wasn’t there, either. What am I going to do if they take Logan away? I can't do this... I stood up and started walking around. I was starting to get dizzy. Probably not the best idea.
The next thing I know I'm standing outside a room. It sounded like the demon and his butler were in there, but I couldn't quite hear the conversation. I could, however, tell they were talking about that Latara character. I still don't like her.
I was so close to hearing what the two demons were saying, when someone came up from behind me. "What are you doing, puella?" A female asked. I spun around to look at her. She had long, black hair and bright sapphire eyes that were narrowed at me.
“Who are you? Where are we?” I asked, trying to sound confident. “My name is Serena Lupas, and we are currently residing in Bakers Mansion. Your previous hiding place was found and, unfortunately, destroyed. You have been unconscious for around twelve hours.” She answered coolly, her eyes still narrowed.
"Ok…I like your name by the way. It's neat and unique. I'm going to guess you’re a demon too, right? Where's my friend Logan?" I asked, very confused. Serena’s eyes soften and she smiled lightly. “Asleep. It’s actually around three in the morning. As for your assumption, you are correct. I am a demon. A wolf.”
A wolf demon…cool. I thought. "I didn't think she needed sleep. I mean, you guys don't seem to." I whispered. "We are full demons, she is not. Even as Latara, she is only a percentage. Still, she is a formidable opponent, and a worthy ally." She answered softly, her eyes flashing fuchsia momentarily.
I like this demon. She thinks quickly and has a strong feel to her. I hope this is how Latara will be. "I should probably go get some sleep. Oh, and thanks for saving my life." She blinked a few times, before smiling again. "Gratias tibi. Bonum nox." (You're welcome. Good night)
Serena’s POV
I watched as the young girl walked back to her room. Her soul felt very odd, almost like- I cut my thoughts off, not wanting to think of my previous mistress. Instead, I knocked on the door beside me and walked in.
Lord Phantomhive was sitting in a chair, with Sebastian a few feet away. “How is Miss Amber?” The Earl asked. “Awake. Worried about her friend.” “Has she been informed about herself and Latara?” I shook my head lightly. “No, my lord. She knowns nothing other than what she has already been told.” Lord Phantomhive nodded. “Good. We cannot allow her to uncover the truth. You two must make sure of this.” Sebastian and I glanced at each other, before nodding. “Yes, my lord.”
Briar’s POV
I had heard the conversation between Serena and Ciel, and decided that they were right. We had to keep Amber in the dark, or else she could have changed Logan’s mind. Still, I worried about the demons that had attacked them.
“What do you think they were after?” Serena asked from behind me. I glanced back and saw her, Sebastian and Ciel enter the main room. I hoped onto the counter, and then piped up. “They had to be after Tara! You know what her soul does to other demons!” “What does it do?” We all glanced at each other, before looking at the door way.
Logan was standing there, her eyes blood red and her canines actual fangs. I sighed. “Since Tara’s only part demon, her soul can still be devoured by a full demon.” Like anyone else in this room. “It wouldn’t be that bad, except that being a crossbreed, especially the mix of what she is, makes her soul a delicacy. It’s basically the “perfect balance of Heaven and Hell”.” I explained, doing little air quotes. Logan got it, apparently, because she nodded her head.
“She’s human, demon and fairy. That alone would be somethin’ special, right?” She asked, and out of the corner of my eye I saw Ciel nod. “Indeed.” Logan sighed, running a hand through her hair like Tara did. “That’s why I keep getting attacked by demons. They want my soul.” I bit my lip to keep from saying anything…until Serena blurted out, “That’s not all.”
Logan looked at the she-wolf, her head tilted slightly. “What do you mean?” Serena glanced at Ciel, who seemed rather pissed, so she said nothing. Of course, I couldn’t leave the poor kid in the dark. “Tara’s a Fairy, meaning she’s Spiritual. Kinda. If a demon could get ahold of some Fairy Dust, they could wreak havoc on Heaven.” Logan’s eyes widened in shock.
Ciel sighed. “Latara would never let that happen.” He muttered, but still loud enough for everyone to hear. At that, Logan snapped. “Well then what are you waiting for?! Just kill me already!” We all looked at her. “Y-you know?” I stuttered. Logan nodded, wiping the tears off her face. “How?” Ciel asked quietly.
“I overheard you and Sebastian talking. Heightened hearing, remember? You think the best way to get Tara back is to kill this body, so she has to take over, and has to heal. But none of you can do it, can you? You’d all kill her for real.” The whole room was in silence. She was right. About all of it. Except…
“Well, not unless she drank you-know-who’s blood.” I commented casually. “You-know-who?” Serena asked. I watched as Sebastian whispered something into her ear. “Oh, yes, or course.” “Wait…what?” Logan asked. Ciel sighed.
“Latara is partners with someone who has Healing Abilities. The cause of this ability flows through their body, therefore their blood. While a vampire of Latara’s kind can regenerate quickly no matter what type of blood they feast on, his is stronger.” “Does this mystery man have a name?” Logan asked, her right hand on her hip. I smiled. Yep, she’s Tara.
“Indeed he does. He was the man who asked us to look for Latara in the first place.” Logan seemed to catch on, but still she asked, “And his name is…?”
“Daniel Rand.”
