Freedom
Jasmine's POV
I've been at this hospital for a whole week since I got crashed into by the players.
And I'm just now finally able to get discharged. Well, it's supposed to be today. Harry hasn't come by yet this morning. But I'm ready to leave and get home. Except I'm still hooked up to all my monitors and IV because he didn't give the nurses an all clear yet.
Although, the movers are supposed to come tomorrow and I can't help them at all because I'm still in a sling and supposed to be "taking an easy" in Harry's words.
I've had two other MRIs since Harry wanted to make sure he didn't make another mistake, which he didn't of course; but he's paranoid.
I was scrolling through social media on my phone, trying to waste time so Harry could get here and let me go home.
The only bad part about being discharged, is that the pain meds I was giving for my head and clavicle, also helped the pain of my braces, but now I have three different pains on my body.
A heard a door open and I looked up and saw Harry, Niall, Dr. Payne, and Nurse Louis all walk into the room.
"My favorite patient, how are you feeling today?" Harry asked walking over to me and looking at my monitor.
"Wanting to get out of here." I said to Harry as I watched Niall get comfortable in the chair next to me.
"Let me just take your vitals real quick. Deep breath in." Harry said, grabbing a stethoscope, and immediately connecting the cold bell to my skin.
"Heart rate is back to normal."
Well yeah, because I haven't had any surgery and I'm not nervous. I just wanna leave.
Harry manually took my blood pressure instead of using the machine.
"Blood pressure is good, too."
"I promise this will be the last time...while you're here." Harry said, implying that he was about to blind me with his light for the hundredth time.
I looked straight ahead, which happened to be where Dr. Payne was standing.
Dr. Payne stuck his tongue and made goofy faces, until I couldn't see them as both my eyes were blinded by Harry's pen light.
When my eyes finally adjusted, Dr. Payne was nowhere to be found.
"And follow my finger."
"Harry, we do this every time." I complained, not wanting to follow his dumb finger.
"But this will be the last time so that's why I'm doing it."
I complied.
"Alright, last few things." Harry said as he grabbed a cotton ball and bandaid off the bed table.
Harry picked up my arm by where my IV was and slowly started to peel off the tape that held down the butterfly needle.
I watched as he slowly slid the needle out of skin and red blood started oozing out of the puncture wound, but Harry immediately stopped it with the cotton ball, and then put the bandage on top to secure it.
"I'm going to lower your gown to get the electrodes off." Harry said as he looked to see that I acknowledged him as he began untying the top strings to lower my hospital gown so that he could take off the electrodes.
"Hey Jasmine. Could you do me one favor, real quick while Harry's doing that?" Niall asked.
I looked over to him with his phone out.
"All of my patients have pictures at the beginning of braces treatment and after they get their braces off. But I don't have a picture of yours. Plus I wanted to take a look before you were discharged."
I looked over at Harry who was turning off the heart machines so I wouldn't flat line as soon as he disconnected the electrodes.
He peeled the stickers off my chest and put them in a trash bin.
"Uh yeah, I guess you can, Dr. Horan."
"Niall, please," Niall said, correcting me.
"All you have to do is just smile and show off you braces." He said as I heard him take multiple pictures.
Harry walked out of my room after tying both the strings back.
"Alright, thank you. And now I'm just going to take a look. Open, please."
Niall turned on his phone flashlight and popped my personal bubble so I closed my eyes until he was done looking.
"Everything is looking good. You haven't broken any brackets yet, which I can't imagine you doing with this sucky hospital food anyways. And I'll update my systems with your picture." Niall said, offering a smile and walking out of my room.
Nurse Louis smiled awkwardly at me as Harry entered my room again with a clipboard and papers.
"Discharge papers. You can sign them after I give you the run down."
"The movers and myself will be there at 9 tomorrow. Don't lift anything that even looks heavy, for the sake of your shoulder and head."
Harry stopped to make sure I was listening before he continued.
"Our flight is exactly one week from today, at 7:30 am. We'll pick you up at 5."
I was wondering how Harry got my address but then I realize that it's in my medical records, and he's my boss so he could also find it out that way.
"Now for discharge instructions. No lifting heavy objects, as said before. You can take a shower, if you cover your cast with a bag so it doesn't get wet and just be careful of all your stitches. I'm going to drop off some antibiotics when I come help you tomorrow. The instructions will be on the bottle, don't forget to pack them in your carry on, too."
"I think that's everything, now Nurse Louis will help you get all of your stuff and take you home, once you get out of your dreadful hospital gown there." Harry said with a laugh.
"I'll see you tomorrow, love."
