I expected her to be excited when she was chosen. Atleast I expected a few whoops. Well, when she was chosen, she was happy but when I congratulated her, her only answer was,
" There is so much work left!"Naturally, Aurora was elected in charge of this project because it was her idea. Lilith became the vice president because her idea was also one of the top ones.
First I thought Aurora was just worrying too much. But when I saw all the plans and the extent to things that are needed to be done I realized how correct she was. There is a lot of work left!
We all stayed back after the school as Aurora gave a detailed explanation of the cafe. The first thing we need to do was build a tent. Yes you heard it right. Build a tent. All by ourselves. These teachers these days have no humanity.
Aurora had come up with this idea of using pieces of cloth to make a bigger cloth. We were each supposed to embroider or paint anything on the piece of cloth and give it in. As usual, I had no idea whatsoever.
Even after school ended, Aurora was surrounded by work. Papers, notebooks were scattered around her. Her eyes were squinted in concentration as she completed the calculations. I took a notebook in my hand and turned it's pages. There were various dress designs and sketches. I said,
" What are these for?"
She answered without looking at me,
"The white one filled with dress designs? It's for the fashion show or competition hosted by design club. Joining the show is mandatory for members."
She went back typing. I put my homework down and leaned and looked at her laptop screen. I asked,
"What are you doing?"
She sighed and said,
" Trying to find suitable carpenters."
I looked at her and frowned. She said,
" Well...we will need something to support the whole cafe don't we? I never studied engineering, but I have a good idea. "
She showed me a sketch of the cafe's interior and exterior.
She sighed and continued,
" That is not the end. I still have to buy suitable cloth for finishing the outer surface of the cafe. After we finish collecting the cloth, we have to stitch them securely. That will atleast take half a month or even more. Then we have to add another layer of simple cloth to complete the cover. Then, we have to stitch it into a tent. Now understand how much work is left? Just the tent alone will take two months and we just have 3 months in our hands. And not to mention we also need to find a electrician to install speakers. This just seems to be getting worse!!"
I said,
"Aurora breathe! I guess you completely forgot to breathe the past 5 minutes! The situation sounds bad, but why can't we just divide the work? Like when the others are working on the tent, the rest can work on the signs and the tables."
Her eyes shone like it does when she gets a new idea.
She said,
"Hm...what you said wasn't illogical. But will there be enough hands? Many don't know how to stitch..."
I said,
" This project isn't about perfection Aurora. It is about hardwork. Everyone liked your idea because it was a beautiful idea. You suggested we give everything our touch. You said we would even paint and design the chairs and tables, so our cafe had the cultural festival vibe. So don't wear yourself out. Enjoy it. The work may seem easier that way."
