Chapter 9

I didn't know how I got myself into this.

I did not do anything to provoke them.

Then why?

One of the guys, who was catching my hair punched me in my gut. I fell down as blind spots came into my vision. I groaned and clutched my stomach, but someone kicked my side and I hit the box kept in the alley. Pain seared my side.

One of the guys laughed and said,

" Look at the mirror sissy. You thought you could make the hottest girl in the class like you? Hah! Think again!"

I felt a sudden surge of anger. 'Hot'!? That was all Aurora was to them? Just a source physical attraction and nothing else?

I got up and tried to stand and said,

" Stop.... disrespecting...HER!"

I swung my hand and felt it hitting something hard. The first guy's teeth. Atleast , I made some damage.

The second guy swung his fist and hit my jaw. The first guy got up and kicked my stomach. I felt and gasped.

Then I heard footsteps. They turned to see who was it.

It was Aurora.

She looked at them and then at me. She smiled. Her smile wasn't like the ones she gave me before. Her smile did not reach her eyes, which were cold and unmoving. Yet she was smiling in this dangerous ,silent manner. Something was scary about her smile. Her hands were behind her and she was walking in the most girlish and un-Aurora-ish way possible.

She smiled at them like the sight of me lying there bruised was a common sight. She said in a cheerfully, yet scary way,

" Noah...what is going on here?"

The guy Noah, said,

" Nothing. Just beating up your little puppy Rian for being arrogant. You know just teaching him his place..."

She looked at me with that scary smile still on her face....and said,

" Oh really?...."

What happened next was definitely not what I had expected. She turned like her a perfect ballet dancer, raised her leg slightly and kicked Noah on the head with such force that he hit the dumpster and did not get up again. She hands were still behind her back and her smile was still there.

She turned towards the rest and smiled sweetly and said,

" Anything else?"

I admired her nerves. She stood there, facing five boys who were taller than her and asking if anyone else had anything to say. But even with her disadvantages, she looked so scary, I was surprised that they were not running away yet.

I heard more footsteps approaching. Mylene,Anna and Lilith stood at the mouth of the alley, smiling in the same sweet and scary way.

Anna said,

" One against six is not fair right? What about four against six?"

I watched in awe as they fought.

Anna,Mylene and Aurora were awesome in fighting. Lilith was not as good as them, but she gave them some pretty good kicks in the groin.

After 10 minutes, all the six guys lay on the ground, bruised and knocked out, while Anna, Mylene, Lilith and Aurora calmly stood over them without a scratch.

Finally Aurora turned and her cold expression changed. Her eyes became softer. She knelt beside me and helped me up.

My knees buckled as I tried to get up. Aurora and Lilith caught my arms. I felt pretty pathetic, stumbling like that.
