Chapter 5

The next day, I nervously straightened my shirt collar to hide the bruises on my neck. When I opened the door in the morning, I saw that she had left. I packed the cupcakes in a small orange coloured paper box.

I picked up my bag and walked through the usual path to my school.

When I reached the school gate, I saw Aurora with two girls. I recognised them. They were from my class. But I couldn't remember their names.

I don't know why, a part of me felt disappointed.

I am such a idiot. How could I hope that she will have no friends? How could I hope that she has only me as her friend? How could I expect her to be near to a person she just met a day ago?

She noticed me and waved and asked me come near. I felt awkward. I wasn't a social kind of person. I liked a quiet life.

I walked over to them. I noticed Aurora's friends properly for the first time.

Aurora smiled at me and said

"Rian! I didn't introduce you to my friends !"

She pointed towards the girl standing beside her. She had a frail but athletic built. Her eyes were purplish-pink , and her hair a strange blonde colour.
I mean..it was blonde, but had a slight pinkish tinge. Her hair was short and hardly touched her shoulders. She wore a jumper over her school uniform, and matching red sneakers.
I knew her. She was the most athletic girl in our class. Her name was..um...An.. something.

Aurora said,

"This pixie is Anna. Though she might look cute and fuzzy like one, don't let that fool you!"

Anna scowled at Aurora and punched her arm.

She said,

"Dont-call-me-a-pixie-if-you-dont-wanna-die".

She said all that in one breath. She then turned to me and smiled.

She held out her hand and said,

"Hello Rian. Nice to meet you. I am Anna, Anna Chorde . This is my girlfriend Mylene Qin. "

She pointed towards the girl who had her faced buried in her book. She looked up at me. Her eyes...were so... different. It was a bright aqua colour. Her brownish black hair was even longer than Aurora's and plaited into a loose braid. She wore round specs. She was beautiful, but I still felt like Aurora was much more beautiful to her in comparison.

Then a sentence hit me. Girlfriend?

Please don't misunderstand me. I am not a homophobic. It's just...I never saw a couple like that in real life. More than surprised I was curious.

Anna must have noticed me staring because she suddenly narrowed her eyes and said

"Are you homophobic?"

I shook my head hurriedly and stepped back. Even though she was shorter than me, she was pretty intimidating.

After hearing my answer her frown melted away and she smiled again and held out a powder pink box filled with chocolate doughnuts and said,

"Want a doughnut?"

I shook my head,but suddenly Anna started moaning and said

"Ow ow owwwwww"

I stepped back, scared. I didn't even touch her. Then I saw someone pulling her ear. It was Mylene.

She let go if Anna's ear and said to her,

"Don't be rude."

She turned towards me and formally bowed and said with a extremely formal manner,
