Christmas Surprise

Christmas Eve. The most wonderful time of the year. And Nightmare had been going insane.
"We've been dating for more than a year now! And I don't even know what to get him! You gotta help me out!"
On the other end of the phone, Dream snorted. "Blue's more about giving than getting. Just get him a little something that shows him you love him."
The next day, Nightmare knocked on Honey's door.
When he opened it, the tall skeleton looked wary at first. "What do you want?"
"Can we talk?"

Blue's POV

Christmas day! And I'm spending it with the most amazing person in the world! I quietly got out of bed, making sure he was still deep asleep, which he was, before heading downstairs to make breakfast. Pancakes and syrup were laid out on the table in ten minutes.
Nightmare stumbled downstairs a few minutes later. He was never a morning person, I honestly don't know why he bothered to get up sometimes, since it would end in him passed out on the couch.
"Morning lovely." He pulled me into a hug with a yawn.
"Morning sleepyhead. Merry Christmas."
"And to you too."
"I'm so excited! My first Christmas with my boyfriend! C'mon, let's eat, then we can open presents!" I giggled, sitting down at the table. He slumped into the other seat. I hoped he was excited, too. I had realized that Nightmare probably didn't celebrate Christmas, so I'd made sure his gifts were really special.
After breakfast, Nightmare confessed that he'd been so nervous, he'd only really gotten me one present. I smiled and told him it was alright, I hadn't really known what he wanted either, I'd only gotten him two. We both laughed and decided to wait until the afternoon to open presents.
Most of the day was spent talking, laughing, and watching some of the cheesiest Christmas movies ever.
A few hours later, Night grabbed my hand and led me upstairs. He led me towards a room that, ever since we moved in, he hadn't let me anywhere near it. "I wanna teach you something."
"Huh?"
He opened the door. I stopped in my tracks.
It looked like a dance studio! He led me to the middle of the room, then ran over to a CD player and fumbled around for a minute.
A sweet song started and he took both my hands in his, slowly dancing with me around the room. I closed my eyes, moving with the music.
When the song ended, I opened my eyes. "Thank you, Nightmare. That was an amazing Christmas gift."
"That's not the gift..." Nightmare rubbed the back of his skull and pulled something out of his pocket. It was a small box, wrapped in pink and red. I took it and slowly took the paper off. The box was black, a little soft, hinged. I opened it. There was a small silver ring inside, with gold flowers and a sapphire inlaid in the middle. I gasped.
"I want you to...I just don't want to be alone again. I'm sorry, you don't have to say yes...I can keep it for another-"
"YES!" I leaped into his arms. "Yes, yes, a thousand times, yes!"
He laughed, probably with relief. "Can I put it on you?"
"Mhm." I held out the box to him. He took the ring and I held out my hand, it fit perfectly.
"I love you."
"I love you too."
I paused. "Did Honey...?"
"I have his blessing."
"How?"
"I guess I caught him in a good mood."
"Well, he must've just gotten back from a date."
I laughed. "Merry Christmas, love."
"Merry Christmas, baby Blue."
I clung to him, pulling myself up for a kiss. Unfortunately, my weight was enough to pull him down on top of me. We both laughed. Nightmare started to get up, then he smirked and kissed me instead. I accepted it gladly and it spiraled into a makeout session quickly. He purred and I felt his hand snake up my shirt. I yelped and pushed him off. "Wh...what are you-"
"Sorry-I..." He got up fast. His entire face was a dark cyan.
"No, it's...I just wasn't ready for-"
"Yeah, not a problem."
"Let's go open your presents now!" I got up and dragged him downstairs.
