Matteo's POV

As the footsteps got closer, I growled telling them to stay away.
"Honestly, this is such a pain"

I heard a branch snap from behind me and I sighed.
Guess they're not leaving.
Might as well fight.

I stood up in a fighting stance ready to attack whoever came out while making sure to keep Lilian hidden behind me.
"Woah Matteo calm down. It's me"

I frowned and tilted my head as I watched Romeo emerge from the bushes.
I scoffed and still growled at him.
"What the fuck are you doing here"

"I was looking for her then I caught a whiff of your scent do I decided to check it out and turns out, I was right"
He mind liked and I sighed.

"Why are you hiding her by the way"
He tried to look over and I blocked his view.

"Nothing."

"Tsk, what's wrong with you"

"Get away. You've had enough time with her. Leave us alone now"

"In my dictionary, there's never 'too much' time with her"

"Shut up. You sound cringe as hell"
I shifted back and took off my shirt.

"So where is she?"

"I think she's still trying to sneak in here. After all security is tighter than before"
Romeo sighed and flopped down on the floor.

"So...where are the girls?"

"If what you said is right then I wouldn't be surprised if she used them to threaten us so I moved them to a safe location"

"That's good"
I finished putting on the shirt on Lilian then I sat down and put her head on my lap.
She immediately wrapped her hands around my waist then snuggled into my lap which made me chuckle.
I'm so glad to be back.

"Bun..."

"Hmm..."
I looked to see her smiling in her sleep while mumbling something.

"Little bun...oven..."
I smiled and pinched her cheek.

"What are mumbling about"
She kept on sleeping peacefully and I couldn't help but think about how vulnerable she is right now.

"Hey, hey..."
I snapped out of my thoughts and looked at Romeo.
"I know she's fine and all but focus on the situation at hand."

"Okay, but I don't think it's safe to talk here. Let's go somewhere more secluded"
He nodded and stood up.

I did the same and carried Lilian in my arms while walking towards the pack house.

Once we got there, I headed straight to her room and opened the door.
I layed her on the bed and put a blanket around her.

"Oh and um Gab have given birth"
I turned around and stared at him.

"Really, when?"

"Today..."

He started laughing and I frowned.
"Why you laughing..."
