Receiving Practice

Chapter 5

Oikawa strolled into the gym where he was met by his team members. He walked up to Yamaguchi who was stretching his arms.

"Oh, hello Oikawa-San. Do you need something?" The younger boy asked.

"Well actually I was hoping that you could stay after we finish practicing, I want to talk with you about something."

Yamaguchi had a worried expression on his face, probably thinking he was in some sort of trouble but nodded his head with a yes and Oikawa skipped off to bother Iwaizumi.

The team practiced and practiced as much as they could before it was time for their twenty minute break. Usually, Yamaguchi would meet up with Tsukishima and spend the break with him but since he needed to talk with Oikawa, the green haired boy sent Tsukishima a message saying that wouldn't be able to meet.

Okay.

Yamaguchi sent a quickly smiling face before turning off his phone. He looked up to see a smiling Oikawa standing in front of him.

"Hey Yama-Chan! Who ya texting?" He asked curiously.

"Oh, just Tsukishima." He said sheepishly.

Oikawa's grin grew wider as he sat down on the bench next to Yamaguchi.

"Good! Glad to see you two getting along, speaking of Tsukishima, I wanted to talk to you about him."

This itself made Yamaguchi feel uncomfortable. 'Had he or Tsukishima done something wrong?' 'Did Oikawa not want them to hang out?' These thoughts ran through Yamaguchi's head before he shook the thoughts away and nodded his head in understandment, allowing Oikawa to continue.

"I was just wondering what your feelings are towards Tsukishima."

"Feelings?" Yamaguchi asked. "Oh, Tsukishima's a really good friend and I like to hang out with him!" The freckles boy said with a smile.

"Oh, uh no, I meant like are you feeling more than how you feel with friends towards Tsukishima?" Oikawa asked, trying to spell it out for Yamaguchi but the younger boy just tilted his head in confusion.

"Goodness, ok, what I'm asking is, do you," he pointed at Yamaguchi, "have a crush on Tsukishima."

Yamaguchi's tan face quickly turned into a light pink.

"Huh? I- uh. W-well I never really thought of it that way, b-but now that you mention it, I wouldn't oppose being in a r-relationship with him." Yamaguchi answered bashfully and Oikawa's slightly frustrated expression turned into a happy grin.

"Oh how wonderful!" The third year clapped his hands. "But we only have a week left of the training camp, are you going to tell him?"

"Well, maybe close to the end so if he says no then it won't have to see each other anymore." Yamaguchi said as he fumbled around with the pop socket on his phone, a nervous habit.

Oikawa wanted to tell Yamaguchi that he knew that Tsukishima liked him but one, he didn't even know if Kuroo and Bokuto were telling truth and he didn't want to get his hopes up, and two, confessions are a special part in a relationship and he wouldn't want to ruin that for the two first years.

"Oh I wouldn't worry too much!" Oikawa said and smiled with a wink, causing Yamaguchi to flush even harder. "Well that's all I needed from you so bye bye!" He said and ran off to find his two fellow captains like his life depended on it.

Yamaguchi waved with a confused look on his face before pulling out his phone, probably going to play some mobile games to pass the time.

Oikawa ran to look for his friends in the cafeteria. It's usually where they go to hang out when possible. Once he spotted the two he speedily ran over and plopped himself right in between the two.

"Shut up you two!" He exclaimed at them, though neither of them were talking.

"I have big news! You know how Tsukishima is in love with Yamaguchi and you wanted me to talk with him about it? Well, turns out that Yamaguchi likes Tsukishima too, which means they can date and then get married and then get a child and me and Iwa-Chan will become godparents! Doesn't that sound wonderful?" He said, taking little to no breaths in between each word.

"Woah, slow down, take a deep breath." Kuroo guided Oikawa to take a breath and the setter followed.

"Now, can you repeat what you just said but a touch slower."

"Ok, Yamaguchi said that he liked Tsukishima and since Tsukishima likes Yamaguchi, they can date!"

Kuroo's and Bokuto's eyes widened in surprise.

"Bro's, I gotta tell Tsukkidude!" Bokuto said and whipped out his phone.

Before he could even start to type in the password Oikawa snatched his phone away.

"Are you dumb?" He asked harshley and bonked the other's head with the phone in his hands. "Everyone knows how special confessions are to a relationship, you could have ruined their entire future together!"

Bokuto looked horrified at the thought.

"I agree with Oikawa, for once," which earned him a glare from the setter, "They need to do this themselves."

Oikawa nodded his head firmly in agreement and Bokuto looked rather upset at the damage he could have caused.

"Ah, we better get going, break time is over." Oikawa said and stood up to stretch his arms up behind his back.

"Catch you guys later." Kuroo said as he stood up followed by Bokuto.

The three captains all left the gym and headed to their respective gymnasiums.

Okay, so you probably are wonder why this chapter is SIGNIFICANTLY shorter than the previous. Well I really don't have an excuse I've just been Lazy and only writing for like 30 minutes a day.I could have made this chapter longer and kept writing but it's already been like 5 or 6 days since I last updated and there is going to be a time skip in the next chapter so I thought it would be best to just cut it off here. One last thing, this story has 60 views and 10 votes! I'm very exited that this story has actually been seen by people even if it's not a lot to others, I really didn't expect this story to get over 30 views so it means a lot to me. Ah ok, this was a long A/N, BYE!
