Dany's POV
Through the motorcycle ride I made up my mind. I had to talk to Mark. As I struggled to get off the motorcycle without his help I became even more determined.
"Mark, let's talk please" I grabbed his arm making him turn to face me.
"We're talking" he stated.
"I mean actually talk, about us" I added.
"Later, we're with the group right now."
"No Mark, let's talk now." I was afraid that if I didn't do it now I would never build up the courage to do it.
"I said no Dany" he snapped a bit loudly. The guys and girls stopped what they were doing and threw a glance at our direction. Nathaniels eye caught mine and I looked away quickly.
"Fine, have it your way Mark. I'm done trying." I shoved the helmet into his hand and walked away.
Maybe I'm just making a scene, but then again he is always so bipolar with me. The wya he has been treating me lately is not something I want or deserve.
Behind me I heard something fall to the floor and suddenly a hand was on my arm turning me around. I looked up to Mark who was fuming. I could tell he was barely keeping his composure.
"Let's talk" Mark said through gritted teeth.
I sighed, "okay." I didn't want to argue and I knew if I refused to talk to him he would snap. Besides I was the one who brought it up.
He pulled my arm all the way to the car and let it go a bit harshly as we were finally out of sight.
"What did you want to talk about?"
"It's not working out" I said honestly.
"It's not working out or you're to busy flirting with the officer to make it work?" He took a step closer and I stepped back.
"It's not about Nathaniel. I won't deny that I find him charming but it's not about him. It's about the fact that every time we go out you leave me alone. Throughout winter break you didn't once text me or call me. I messaged you and called and you didn't bother even saying you were busy."
"Dany, I like you. I'm not good with this. I've never been good with relationships and you know that. I care for you even if I don't show it."
"That's the thing Mark. You know what you do but you do nothing to change it. If I saw you were putting some effort in I would be patient but I don't see that."
"You're kidding! I have shown effort. Whenever I would stay up because you couldn't sleep. When I would spend holidays with you because your family is too busy to care for you."
I flinched as he said the last line, "Did it bother you? To spend holidays with me?" He looked away from my gaze and nodded. "Let's stop here then."
"Why?" He asked.
I resisted the urge to laugh at his question. Instead I just answered truthfully, "I don't like the way you treat me and you're not what I'm looking for."
"It took you two years to realize that!" He yelled.
"Yeah, it did."
He stepped closer to me and my back hit the car door. "Just so you know, I was just with you because you are a virgin and I wanted to be the first to..."
Before he could finish the sentence I brought my knee up hitting him in his soft spot. He fell down holding his manhood.
"You're stupid if you thought I would ever give my virginity to you" I turned to walk away but turned again to look at him still groaning in pain.
I smiled despite the tears in my eyes. I wasn't going to give him the satisfaction of seeing me cry. With a sweet smile and in a sweet voice I said, "Bye Mark."
