My jaw locks.
"I refuse to talk to them," I say.
Jolie blinks. "That's.....harsh Soph. Don't be so cold-hearted."
"Well, they ran away instead of helping me. I had to be a war queen. And then they suddenly came back. I have every right to be mad at them and forever." I say.
"But friends should forgive. I know that friends should be loyal too, but to keep that grudge forever? Won't that also affect the Lost Cities?" Jolie questions.
"That was their mistake. They left me alone to fight the whole Neverseen with my bodyguards. They can't just then pop up and expect me to forgive them after they left me for years."
"But they have been through so much with you."
"How? All the Council did was sit in their sparkly castles and pretend everything was fine. Grady and Edaline were always don't put yourself in danger. Alden and Della said there's no reason to worry so many times that it made me want to boil their heads. And my so-called friends? They always had someone to fall back on, but when I needed someone? There were never there."
"But Soph-" Jolie started.
"Yeah but again I say you can't forgive someone when they broke your heart." I snapped back.
"They broke your heart.....yes, but they still need to be forgiven. If not, that will become your greatest regret in life for not patching things up," Jolie said gently.
I am currently hating Jolie right now. But I know we are going nowhere with this.
"Fine. I'll talk to them. But that won't make me like them. And remember, the only reason I am doing this is because of you," I say, turning on my heel.
