“Father.” I grunted and sank deeper into the covers.

“Daddy?” Maybe if I won’t move, he would leave.

“Dad.” He crooned, why is this boy so persistent.

“Father.” Oh, wow, did you know English now?

“Father, Daddy?” I put a cushion over my head to try to block out the noise.

The little monster was also fed up.

“DAD!”

“WHAT!?” I finally yelled at him.

“Oh good, you're awake.” Chim smiled.

“Why, you little one…” I grabbed him around the waist and pinned him to the bed before tickling him mercilessly.

His desperate pleas went on deaf ears. I would release him eventually, but this is was what he deserved for waking me up.

The doorbell rang, causing me to freeze and cover Chim's mouth with my hand.
I put a finger to my lips to let him know to be quiet. When he nodded, I glanced out the window to see that there were no cars in front, which meant only one thing, neighbors.

I knew a few people in the neighborhood and I was interested in spending no more than the necessary time to none of them.

“Chim,” I whispered. “Get dressed, we're going to sneak out.”

In the house next door, to our right, lived Max and Tul.

They looked like every American couple at first, but my insane need to save people made me learn otherwise.

How was I supposed to know that Tul liked it rough? Luckily, Max did, so he didn't press charges when I hit him with Chim's baseball bat when I heard them. Instead, they invited me to join them.

Since then, I have not been able to look at their faces.

Directly across the street was Jennie, the other single woman on the block.

In the short time she had lived here, more men had been in her house than I had ever known.

Okay, that was a bit of an exaggeration, but it would definitely benefit you a lot if you put in a revolving door.

I met her when she came to have a date with my cable guy. She got me some free channels so I guess it wasn't too bad.

I dressed as quickly as possible, donning a pair of shorts and a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle tank top. The mysterious neighbor had given up on the doorbell and was knocking on the door with cheerful taps.

I sat down to put my shoes on when Chim came over. He smiled when he saw my shirt.

Godji, my mom, attacked me when I tried to name my son after one of the Ninja Turtles, but Chim thought he was adorable.

“Ready to go?” I asked him, taking my backpack.

He nodded. “I used the spy camera, it's Mr. Tul.”

Ah, Max and Tul Diloknawarit lived down the street with their perfect daughter, Yihwa.

Tul was the king of gossip in the neighborhood. I knew that if I opened the door, then I would be trapped for hours listening to exaggerated stories about everyone's business. I had just woken up and I certainly couldn't handle that.

Chim and I crawled through the house and out the back door. We crouched down and ran across the back lawn until we reached the fence that separated my garden from that of the neighbors.
