Piper's Prank

Summary: Piper pulls a mean prank on Jasper, leading to Henry comforting his best friend and making an admission.

Jasper POV

I went over to Henry's house, it was a nice Saturday afternoon and we could play our new video game together happily.

I knocked on the door three times, waiting excitedly for an answer. It took a little while for someone to realise I was there, so I knocked again. Sadly for me, it was Piper who opened the front door.

Piper: What do you want?

Me: I'm here to see Henry.

Piper: Well he's not here.

I felt my heart sink in disappointment, but then I cheered up when I saw Henry behind her, waving at me from behind Piper.

Me: Hey Hen!

Henry: Come in dude!

I pushed past Piper and ran over to Henry, giving him a fist bump as we met. I turned back and saw the evil look Piper was giving me.

Henry: Shall we go up and play our new game?

Me: Sure!

We walked upstairs and I felt there was now nothing else to worry about. Little did I know, that things were going to get ugly.

Taking a seat on his bed, I completely forgot about the tense moment I had with Piper, and wanted to have fun with my best friend.

Henry POV

I was happy to see Jasper, as I had been looking forward to playing a brand new game with him. We were sat on my bed, in front of the TV.

Me: I've waited so long to play this.

Jasper: Me too, it's been taking over my mind.

I put the disc into the console and started the game up. I gave Jasper a controller, and took one for myself too, before I sat down next to him.

Me: This is awesome.

Jasper: You bet it is!

We played for hours, not being interrupted by anyone as we continued. Jasper looked as if he was enjoying the new game, and so was I.

Me: I can't believe we reached the final level already.

Jasper: It's fantastic!

It was only a few more moments before something changed, and Piper was shouting up to them very loudly.

Piper: Henry, bring your boyfriend down here now!

Jasper: What does she want now?

Me: I don't know, but I guess we should go and find out.

When we got downstairs, Jasper and I looked for Piper, but she was nowhere to be seen. He looked at me in confusion.

Jasper: What should we do?

Me: I don't know, I guess we should---.

Before I could finish, Jasper was covered in a bright green, slimy mixture. I looked up and saw Piper stood on a ladder behind us, pouring it out of a bucket.

Piper: That serves you right, idiot.

Me: Why did you do that?

Piper: Why do you care?

Me: Because Jasper is my best friend.

I didn't get to respond, as Jasper ran back upstairs and I thought I had seen him crying. I quickly followed him, knowing that he needed me.

Jasper POV

I should know better, seeing how much Piper truly hates me. All I ever wanted was to have a good time with Henry, but she had gone out of her way to spoil it.

I felt the tears burn as they rolled down my cheeks, and when I reached Henry's room, I lay on his bed, hoping he wouldn't see me cry.

Henry: Hey...

I kept quiet, I mean he might think I'm a loser if I speak up, right? I felt the bed dip beside me, and a hand placed softly on my back.

Henry: Dude, she shouldn't have done that.

Me: I... Why did she?...

Henry: Sit up dude.

I was not sure if I should, but Henry didn't give me an option, as he pulled me up so that I was sat on the bed.

I noticed that he looked really worried about something. I had never seen him like that before, and my own sadness was starting to change.

Me: What's going on?

Henry POV

In this moment, I was thinking about opening up to Jasper. He was in such a vulnerable position, and I started to debate in my head, if this was going to be such a good idea.

Me: Look, there is something I need to talk to you about.

Jasper: What is it?

Me: I think I know why Piper did this.

Jasper: You do?

Me: Yep, it's because she knows my secret.

Jasper: And what is it? I already know you're Kid Danger, so it can't be that.

I couldn't stop myself, as I grabbed his face and pulled him forward, making sure to give him a big, wet kiss.

To my surprise, Jasper didn't push me away, in fact he moved closer to me, wrapping his arms around my waist. It ended all too soon, but it made quite an impression.

Me: My secret is that I have a huge crush on you. That's why Piper kept calling you my boyfriend.

Jasper: I wish you told me earlier, I like you too.

I couldn't believe it, the guy I really liked felt the same way, and now I felt like my life could be complete once more.
