Looking At You - Part 2

Summary: Now joined by Jasper, Henry tries to hide his feelings, but discovers that his heart will take control against his wishes.

Having just entered the man cave, Jasper saw Charlotte and Henry sat down next to each other. He was really happy to see them.

Charlotte signalled for him to go over with them, which he did willingly. There was not much that was said at first, so Charlotte attempted to start a conversation.

Charlotte: So Jasper, how are things?

Jasper: I'm fantastic! Just got myself a new bucket!

Charlotte: That's nice.

There was more going on, but Henry wasn't taking any of it in. He sat there quietly, looking constantly at Jasper.

Charlotte: Isn't that right Henry?

Hearing his name brought Henry back into the room. He saw Charlotte and Jasper were looking back at him.

Henry: Sorry, just looking at Jasper's adorable face.

It was unbelievable to Henry that he had just admitted what he was doing without even thinking about it.

Charlotte: What was that?

Henry: Oh, um nothing, just saying random stuff.

Jasper: Then... Why are you staring at me? You haven't stopped since I walked in.

Henry: Because you are cute... Henry stop it!

Henry was getting so frustrated at himself; he knew that he was making the situation even more complicated than it already was.

Jasper: You think I'm cute?

Henry: No! I mean yes! I mean... Oh Henry stop doing this to yourself!

He wanted to keep his mouth shut, as that would be the only way that he would not make things awkward, but as much as his head tried to stop him, Henry's heart defied everything.

Charlotte: Why do you keep denying your feelings?

Jasper: And for the record, I am cute!

Henry: I know I just... I...

Henry's heart was pounding loudly, he could hear it so clearly, and could also see the worried expressions on the faces of Jasper and Charlotte.

Jasper: Why don't you just tell the truth? It's not as if I would ever hate you.

Henry: You couldn't hate me?

Jasper: How could I hate my best friend?

Henry: I'm sorry, I---

Jasper: Stop apologising!

Charlotte: And stop making your own life so difficult! You are allowed to be happy!

They hoped that their words were getting through to him, but after all that had happened, they realised that Henry was probably having a rough time.

Henry: Jasper.

Jasper: Yes Henry?

Henry: I have started to see you differently.

Jasper: You have?

Henry: I know in my heart, that you are the one I need.

Jasper: That's really sweet.

Henry: So, would you consider, maybe becoming more than friends?

Jasper: That's a good question, which I can answer.

Everything became more positive for Henry, and it got even better as Jasper closed the gap between them and gave Henry a kiss. He was about to pull away, when Henry wrapped his arms around Jasper and held him close for a few more seconds.

Charlotte: I'd better go and get a drink, see you guys later.

As they were still kissing, Henry and Jasper said a muffled goodbye and waved as Charlotte left. Henry didn't want to stop kissing, but Jasper had to catch his breath.

Jasper: We must be more than just friends now?

Henry: I'd say that's an accurate observation.

They held onto each other, not caring that Ray and Schwoz just looked at them without saying anything. They were clearly much stronger together.
