A Sad Kiss - Part 3

Summary: Jasper listens to Henry and Charlotte as they explain everything, leading to some admissions.

Henry POV

This was a very serious situation, and I didn't even know why Jasper was so bothered. We always said that we would support each other, no matter what, but then again I guess seeing his two best friends kissing was going to be difficult.

The thing that he needed to know was that there was a reason, and he shouldn't be worried, but from the look on his face, I knew he already was. As I was about to speak, I was interrupted by Charlotte, who sat down next to Jasper, and put her arms around him.

Charlotte: Don't worry about what you saw.

Jasper: How on earth can you say that?

Me: Listen to her, Jasper.

Piper: Are you two going to explain things already?!

I knew that Piper wasn't going to let us take our time, but she would just have to wait. As I sat down the other side of Jasper, I put my arms around him too.

Charlotte: The fact is, I dared Henry to kiss me, to see what it would be like.

Jasper: W-what?!

Charlotte: It was just a silly thing to do, but I had to know, and it was just a kiss. I didn't feel anything.

Me: And neither did I.

Piper: Now that surprises me, I thought you really did like it, considering how passionate it looked.

Charlotte: We made it passionate so that it was real, but neither of us enjoyed it in the end.

I saw Jasper look up at us, and the expression on his face was changing. No longer was it sad, but there was a mere hint of hope for some reason.

Jasper: Are you sure about that?

Charlotte: Absolutely.

Me: Definitely, but I have a question for you.

Jasper: What is it Henry?

Me: Why did this upset you so much?

The was a pause as Jasper thought. The last thing I had ever wanted to do was make my best friend so sad, but there was a tear rolling down his cheek, causing me to hug him close.

Piper: Henry, are you serious right now?

Me: Piper, what do you mean?

Piper: I think it's clear to everyone what the answer is, isn't it Charlotte?

Charlotte: I've worked it out.

Me: Is anyone actually going to tell me what's happening?

Charlotte: Actually, I think this is something you need to work out for yourself.

I began to get frustrated, because I hadn't worked out what was happening. Jasper was crying softly, and it was all my fault. I started to think about what was happening, about why Jasper would react the way he did, and then it hit me.

Me: Oh my Jasp... I'm so sorry!

Jasper: Hen?

Me: You didn't like watching me kiss Charlotte, because you like Charlotte.

Jasper: Ugh...

Piper: You are stupid.

I saw Charlotte sigh, which told me that Piper was correct, and I was stupid. I tried to get to the bottom of this situation, but then I finally got it.

Me: Hang on, if you don't like Charlotte then that must mean... You like me.

Jasper: I'm sorry, this probably makes you angry I---

Me: Stop, I'm not angry and you don't need to be sorry.

Jasper: But I've ruined everything, I---

I don't know what gave me the confidence, but I stopped Jasper talking by kissing him. His voice was muffled as he was still talking, before he stopped and enjoyed the kiss. As I pulled away, I just gazed at Jasper. This was the first time I've ever thought about another guy.

Charlotte: Well that solves that!

Piper: I knew Henry would want this.

Jasper: Does that mean?...

Me: I care deeply for you, and I'm flattered that you feel the same about me.

Jasper: So, am I your partner?

Me: You're my handsome boyfriend.

He jumped on me, hugging me so tightly with absolute joy.  I had never considered Jasper as my soulmate, but I knew now that he was, and all this time, he was right in front of me.
