Kao was gasping for air as he was storming out of Pete’s house. Behind him, he could hear the stomps of someone chasing him. He turned around to meet Pete’s brown creamy eyes. A tear trickled down Kao’s cheekbone causing his vision to become blurry.

“What’s the matter? Where are you going off to?” Pete demanded for answers. He couldn’t stand the sight of Kao sobbing.

“I already told you that I’m going to school early.” He responded impatiently ignoring Pete’s eyes. Pete cupped his lover’s chin to make him look at him and pecked his plumbed lips.

“Please, P Pete! I need some time alone to myself.” He was fighting the waterfall from escaping his eyes.

Pete had a mixture of annoyed and worry written on his face, but he finally agreed, “Fine but call me when you need me.” He rubbed his boyfriend’s back and went back inside the house with Karn and Pon.

Kao was wandering off in the streets. ‘Maybe the message was right. Maybe I am a disappointment. Maybe I should kill myself… wait what am I even thinking? I can’t do that to my family and Pete.’

The university was a 15 minute walk. As he arrived at the University he ordered Thai tea boba from the stalls in the cafeteria.  He was staring at the gorgeous scenery displayed in front of him. It has already been 30 minutes and his friends and boyfriend have arrived.

“Hey Kao, why so early? Why didn’t you come with Pete today?” June pointed out loudly as usual.

“I had things to do June, not like you!” Kao yelled, glaring back at June.

“Ay Kao!” June exclaimed, hurt by Kao’s words, “Pete, what’s wrong with your wife?” Pete shrugged his shoulders.

“Wife, my ass!” He retorted on the verge of strangling his best friend.

“Hey Kao? What’s the matter with you today?” Thada  questioned with an eyebrow raised.

“Uh nothing” He replied dismissively avoiding eye contact. Sandeee was skeptical, but didn’t force an answer from Kao, knowing that if he had a problem, he would come to her. Sandee was like the mom of the group. She has helped with Pete and Kao with their daily bickering and stubbornness.

“Alright, that’s enough. Kao, you know you can talk to us if there’s something going on?” Sandee stated the obvious with a tone of calmness in her voice.

“So, where shall we go tonight.” Pete asked the cool gang.

Everyone looked at each other and nodded their heads in agreement, “ The bar.” Everyone except Kao said in unison.

“Alright, five minutes for english class. Let’s go. We can’t be late again.” Sandee pointed out.
