Hi again, it's me: the guy who can't update to save his life. As you may have figured from the title, this is a crossover involving everyone's favorite Fire Dragon Slayer ending up in the world of Fate/Stay Night. Please note that this isn't going to follow any specific route. Instead, it's going to be its own story entirely. It may take some inspiration from the three routes, but it won't dive too deep into any one of them.
Anyways, it's my first time trying out a crossover so without further ado, here it is.

Cheers could be heard all across Magnolia, and confetti flew for miles. This was for good reason, as well. After all, the fight of these people's lives had just ended in victory.
The long war with the Alvarez Empire had ended with the defeat of the Spriggan 12 and the death of their emperor: Zeref. However, that alone wasn't enough to cease the fighting, as the feared Black Dragon of the Apocalypse, Acnologia, had almost brought about the destruction of the entire world. This was only made worse by his immense power boost gained by consuming the Space Between Time, absorbing its mind-boggling power.
Despite this, the efforts of every wizard on the continent had sealed Acnologia in one final Fairy Sphere, while in the dimension that the time rift contained, the Dragon Slayers engaged in a showdown with the Black Dragon's spirit. It all culminated in Natsu being enchanted with the Dragon Slayers' power by Wendy and launching a devastating strike that defeated Acnologia for good.
Now, after two days of constant fighting for the future of the world, there was time to celebrate.
The celebrating was cut short rather quickly though, as a crack began to form in the sky. Soon, it expanded and burst open, with the Dragon Slayers falling out of it. Gajeel, Wendy, Laxus, Sting, Rogue, and Erik all dropped onto the port at Hargeon, conveniently falling near those whom they cared about most. The cheers only amplified from there, as all the mages that had fought so valiantly to destroy Acnologia's spirit had finally reunited with their friends.
Well, almost all of them...
The absence of the Dragon Slayer who landed the final blow had not registered at first, but soon enough, people began to take notice.
"Hey, you guys," Lucy spoke up, being the first to notice the fact that Natsu hadn't arrived, "Where's Natsu? Wasn't he with you all?"
One by one, each Dragon Slayer began to realize that Natsu hadn't fallen out of the Space Between Time with them. Worry ensued quickly.
"Now that you mention it, I don't think I saw him fall out with us," Sting pondered, wondering why Natsu hadn't been with them. They were all in the Space Between Time, so it didn't make any sense.
"Where would he even be?" Wendy wondered, her worry for her older brother figure increasing.
"Guess the celebration's gonna have to be put on hold until we find him," Laxus added.
He was right, after all. They couldn't properly celebrate if Natsu wasn't around.
"Let's begin searching for him immediately!" Erza commanded, rallying for everyone to help search for the Dragon Slayer.
Everyone that was present unanimously agreed to the Requip Mage's command. After all, Natsu was an integral part of the guild. On top of that, he had fought the hardest out of everyone in the war. It was time to repay such an effort in any way possible.
Lucy couldn't help but worry for the Fire Dragon Slayer. It was true that he had made it out of every situation that had been thrown at him, but that did little to quell her concerns. Still, now wasn't the time to worry. The time she spent worrying could be spent searching for him, and the more time she spent searching, the closer she would get to reuniting with him.
"You just keep on worrying me, Natsu," Lucy thought as she and the rest of the mages prepared to get searching, "I promise, we'll find you and celebrate our victory together."

It had been five years since Kiritsugu's death.
The Fourth Holy Grail War had cursed the late mage killer to bear the weight of All The World's Evils, unbeknownst to anyone besides himself. Despite this, he continued to live, remaining in the house that he, Irisviel, Maya, and Saber had used as a base during the war. He had gotten to know Taiga Fujimura during this time as well.
She reminded him a lot of Shirley, and despite his traumatic past, he still had fond memories of her.
The two of them got along rather well. While Kiritsugu had been struck with immense trauma at his failure to save countless lives in the Fuyuki City fire, he managed to live on and form a friendship with Taiga Fujimura before the curse of Angra Mainyu finally claimed his life.
Since then, Taiga has lived alone at the Emiya residence. It was basically guaranteed that if she didn't, the household would be torn down. To prevent this from happening, she maintained the home in Kiritsugu's name. Despite not living with anyone else, she never really felt lonely. Although, this was probably because she was generally very outgoing. As such, she wasn't home often to begin with, even when she wasn't teaching at Homurahara Academy.
It was currently nighttime, and Taiga was about ready to get some sleep after a rather uneventful day. This was about to take a complete turn, though, through a literally out-of-nowhere experience.
After all, it wasn't every day that the sky cracked and broke open.
And yet, that's exactly what happened. Although, she had never taken notice of the crack upon its formation. What would grasp her attention was the shouting of a Dragon Slayer, along with the crash in the nearby shed that followed.
Meanwhile, the person who had crashed was in for quite the shock. That is, after he had gotten over the added pain of crashing in the first place. Grasping his head in pain, he began to take in his surroundings that were becoming less blurry by the second.
"Where am I...?" He thought aloud. Looking around, nothing was familar to him in the slightest. The place looked run-down for the most part, with items scattered about. One thing had become clear to him from all this.
Natsu Dragneel had found himself in a completely unfamiliar location.
"Gajeel! Wendy!" The Dragon Slayer called out, hoping to find anyone that last been with him, that last time being the climactic battle against Acnologia. "Where are you guys?!"
Unfortunately for him, no one was present. Even worse for him, he was badly injured. Not only was he covered from head to toe in injuries, but despite Wendy healing his right arm enough for him to be able to use it, it was burnt badly and it hurt like hell. Even with his stamina, he was not going to be moving very far without treatment.
Soon enough, though, he heard grass rustling nearby, as if someone was running to his location. Then, the doors opened, and a woman with short, light brown hair and a yellow-and-black striped shirt entered. Natsu's glance at her didn't last long, as his fatigue from an entire day's worth of non-stop fighting finally caused him to pass out. The last thing he heard was the woman's cries of shock and concern.
His sudden appearance hadn't gone unnoticed by others, though. Within the Tohsaka and Matou households, certain magi felt a disturbance as a result of his entry into Fuyuki City.
The Holy Grail War would begin in one month, and his presence would alter its course entirely.

So, what did you guys think? I got into the Fate series pretty recently, but after seeing Fate/Zero and all three routes of Fate/Stay Night, it's already become my 2nd favorite anime series, with only Fairy Tail surpassing it. I've actually wondered for some time how Natsu would fare in the world of Fate/Stay Night, so it felt natural for me to write a story based on this.
Anyways, I hope you guys enjoyed this prologue. I can't wait to continue this, so I hope you guys feel the same. Later!
