//I was late, but i arrived//

//First gig//

Matty's POV

"We have a gig guys!", Adam shouts, when he is entering George's house. "Really? How did you organise that?", Ross asks, raising one brow. "Well...my sister's friend has a friend and this friend has a bar. And he knows about me being in a band, so he asked if we could play there for an hour or so." there is silence for a second, then we start yelling, hugging Adam and yelling again. "That will be amazing", Ross says.

I smile, for the first time this week. Now i have the chance to share my feelings with some people, to make music with my best friends.

"Hey Matty, do you want to take Gemma with us?" I froze, saying "No Gem is with her parents this weekend." The boys just nod, don't say anything anymore. "Come on guys, we have to make a set list...Matty any ideas?" I stop thinking about Gem and concentrate on preparing the first gig of The 1975.

On saturday, we arrive at the bar we should play in the evening. It's called Beck's. And the friend Adam talked about, is called Jim. "Hey guys, i am glad you will play tonight. Drinks are free for you, but only if you rock that place", he smirks.

Me and the guys put our instruments out, preparing everything getting ready. At the moment, just a few people are here, but Jim says in the evening it will be more. I text Gem, telling her about the gig and wish her a relaxed weekend. When i am looking around i see George's calling with someone, Adam and Ross are on the bar. I decide to join them, getting a bit drunk.

After two or three hours, Jim send us on this little stage next to the bar. It's not big, but perfect for us.

I pick up the micro, "Hello everybody. We're The 1975 and we start with the song called The City."

And the crowd start dancing. I am amazed how many people are here. I didn't expect that. I am looking around, feeling grateful because they seem to like our music. Then my eyes catch a familiar person.

My heart races, it's Kate.

Earlier that day

Kate's POV

Hey Kate, we have our first gig tonight. Would be amazing if you could be there. We're playing in a bar called Beck's.

Maybe see ya there xx

I am still looking on the screen of my phone, reading George's text for the fifth time. And i have just one wish: To see Matty again. To see if he is alright, to see his smile, his chocolate brown eyes, touching his curly hair. My heart is pounding hardly just when i am thinking on him. So will i go?

Even before i can think about it, i call Rebecca to ask her if she wants to join me. Of course she agrees and 30 minutes later she is here. "So tell me Kate. What will you wear?", is her first question. "Yeah hi Becca." She enters and walks straight to my closet. "What about that one?", she asks, showing me a black short sleeveless dress. "Aaand...these shoes", she says taking black high heels, i didn't wear them often. "Don't look at me like that Kate. You have to look fantastic, so Matty will know he did the wrong choice in leaving you for his ex" I sigh. Since i have told Becca what has happened when she was on holiday with her boyfriend Ben, she was thinking about every way to make me look irresistible, when there is a little chance to meet Matty.

I grab the shoes, the dress and a new halterless bra and go into the bathroom. I take off my top and my shorts, put my bra on, and then my dress. I look at the mirror, and i agree with Becca. With that dress i look great, and i hope Matty will think the same.

Becca enters the room. "Fuck Kate. Matty will get a heart attack when he sees you", she smirks. "But you look great too", i say. Becca wears a dark blue dress with long sleeves. "Thanks love. Now it's makeup and hair style time" We decide to curl my hair and put some mascara, eye liner and a dark red lipstick on. Again i look in my mirror. Yeah, that's it. My hands gets wet and my knees starts shaking, when i realize in less then one hour i will meet Matty again.

"Lets go Kate. The taxi is here."

I take deep breath, grab my clutch and step outside.
