"If a man can bridge the gap between life and death, if he can live after he's died, then maybe he was a great man. Immortality is the only true success."
— James Dean

She met Malfoy outside the Slytherin house door, she held her books tightly to her chest, surprised to find herself nervous to go inside. He told her to meet him after class ended and he had run off before she had gotten a chance to ask him exactly why he needed to get there before her.

It wasn't like they were going to the same place or anything.

"He better keep his hands to himself," Ron had grumbled to her when she told him she was headed off. "Or I'll bloody hex him myself."

"He's not going to hurt me," she had rolled her eyes with a smile. "We both know I could take him if need be."

She was certain he wasn't going to hurt her. This was purely for studying, for helping the other out. In a studious way and nothing more.

The Slytherin door opened and he stood in the doorway, he wore a plain black shirt and slacks, the most casual outfit she had seen him in to date. He crossed his arms, scowling, "Are you coming in or not?" He couldn't help but notice how she was slightly flustered, a pink tinge to her cheeks as she bit the inside of her cheek. She looked cute when she was flustered by him.

Rowan sighed, this was going to be a long evening. She walked with him inside, passing by the common room that held not a soul and she was thankful. She didn't want anyone seeing her going up to his dorm.

She went walking towards the main dorm rooms and he caught her elbow, shaking his head and motioning to the other side, "Prefects get their own rooms, mines this way."

"Oh," she breathed, nodding. "Right." She knew this but for some reason, she hadn't wanted to believe that she would be going in a bedroom completely alone and secluded with him.

She followed him to a closed door and he opened is gently, pushing it open with his shoulder. Rowan was always fascinated by the Slytherin dorms and common room, how everything was always casted in blue or green light from the grand windows that looked out into the lake.

As terrified as she was of open water like that, she still found it beautiful. She thought the same when she entered Draco Malfoy's bedroom. It was casted in light green light from the window and he had a small bedside lamp turned on that casted beautiful shadows against the pale walls.

His headboard and bed posts were made of a dark oak that nearly looked black and his sheets were definitely silk. There was a black leather couch against the wall near the big windows with a long coffee table in front of it and Rowan made a promise to herself to steer clear of that, she didn't trust the class not to break.

It wouldn't necessarily be Malfoy's fault if it ever happened, she just couldn't stand the idea of having water rushed towards her. She could still remember her horror when her Boggart during third year manifested into the Great Lake with her body being dragged down into its depths.

She will never forget how lucky she was not to have been chosen for the second task in the Triwizard Tournament last year. She had sent a silent thank you to Remus Lupin, wherever he might've been, because he knew how terrified she was when that Boggart appeared, she barely could say Riddikulus to cast it away.

She turned her attention back to the room, noticing his desk along the wall across from his rather large bed. His dresser was to her right where it held small trophies and pictures of family, but other than that, he didn't have many decorations.
