Izuku stared, wide-eyed, at the scene before him. He felt the blood boiling beneath his skin and his teeth clench together.
He glared at the number one hero as he handed Tokoyami his medal, completely ignoring the blond struggling in his restraints only slightly above them.
He was there! He thought. He knows what he went through and doesn't realise what they've done!
When All Might walked past Katsuki, without sparing him a glance, to get to shoto, Izuku snapped.
Ignoring the pain he broke his sling and launched himself from the stands to the field. He heard his classmates call out to him but he didn't dare stop running.
Adrenalin coursed through him as he sprinted up the stairs eyes linked on Katsuki's own panicked ones. He'd never seen him so scared.
Before he could go any further his mentor stepped in front of him. "Young Midoriya what are you doing?"
"All Might, I'm giving you one chance to get out of my way!"
"Listen, young man, I know your upset about losing but this is no way t-"
"That has nothing to do with what I'm going now move out of my fucking way!"
Izuku used the number one heroes moment of shock to move around him and make a dash for his childhood friend.
Once he reached him he yanked the muzzle off, Katsuki was breathing quickly, on the verge of a panic attack.
Izuku cursed and attempted to pry the restraints over his hands apart. It quickly became apparent that his arms wouldn't be good for anything.
Cursing again, the greenette turned to a very shocked Shoto.
"What the hell are you waiting for? Freeze it or something! We've got to get this off him!!"
Shoto snapped out of his confusion and sent a trail of ice, freezing the metal restraints. Izuku breathed a sigh of relief when Tokoyami had dark shadow smash the casing, releasing Katsuki.
Katsuki stood there for a second before his legs gave out and he fell into Izuku's arms. They collapsed to the floor, clutching each other like their lives depended on it
"Fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck!" Katsuki breathed. Izuku ran his hands through his hair, something he knew calmed the blond. "kacchan, you're safe now, you're okay. How about you get some sleep, I promise I'll be there when you wake." He said to which the red-eyed boy nodded. He was asleep within half a minute, the events of the last five minutes exhausting him.
"Midoriya, would you mind explaining what's going on?"
Izuku looked up only to come face to face with Aizawa, all the other teachers stood behind him.
Izuku stared at them with all the hatred he could feel towards heroes, which wasn't much but enough for the heroes to know he was mad. The heroes in training stood up with his childhood friend still in his arms and walked past the teachers, muttering... "I'm taking him to recovery girl."
As he walked he was fully aware of all the stared from every direction but didn't give them the satisfaction of acknowledging it.

"He seems to have calmed down now, no signs of stress. He'll most likely stay asleep for a while, while his body recovers from the shock. But I would like to know what the cause of this event was, would you mind putting some light on the situation?" Recovery girl asked, turning to her regular.
Izuku sighed, giving a small nod, he gave Katsuki one last look before turning to the petite nurse in front of him.
"You remember that report on Kacchan about the sludge villain?" He got a nod in return. "well I experienced it too, but All Might saved me, I know how horrid it was to be trapped in that sludge, how it prevented you from breathing, hardly even able to move. But Kacchan got the worst of it, he wasn't rescued as fast as I was so I can't imagine how much worse it was for him. I know he felt just as trapped now ad he did then, I don't know what was going on in his head but I do know it wasn't good. But what I can't believe is that All Might, who was there, didn't realise what effect it could have on Kacchan. Frankly, I'm appalled that the teachers thought it was alright to did that to a fifteen-year-old, no matter how angry they are!"
"I see, so we're dealing with a case of PTSD?" The old woman replied, writing something on her notepad. "I'll have Nezu notified so nothing like this happens again, I'll also arrange for some therapy sessions to see if we can help Bakugo. Thank you for telling me Midoriya."
Izuku nodded and turned his attention back on the blond. "Is it alright if I stay with him, I promised I'd be here when he woke up?"
"Very well."
"Thank you."

When Katsuki woke up a few hours later the first thing he registered was that he was in the nurse's office, not very surprising really. The second was that Izuku was not there despite his promise. Katsuki wasn't surprised by that either. He did treat him like shit throughout middle school, but he'd be lying if he said it didn't hurt.
Eventually, the red-eyed teen heard the sound of footsteps on the other side of the curtain, soon a head of familiar green hair popped out from behind it.
"Oh kacchan! You're awake." He smiled when he noticed the blond. "I was just getting a glass of water but you'd probably need this more, here."
Katsuki gingerly took the glass, the colder temperature feeling nice against his warm skin. He brought the glass to his lips but before any of the clear liquid could enter his mouth he lowered it back down. "Why are you here Deku?" He asked, gaze focused on anything but the greenette.
"Huh? What do you mean?"
"Why are you still here?" The explosive teen repeated, stubbornly.
Izuku only smiled again, one Katsuki had seen a million times but never got tired of. "Because I love you Kacchan." He blushed.
The blond was stunned to silence but his heart soured and for the first time in a long time, he didn't know what to do. Izuku used his silence to continue.
"That day with the sludge villain was also one of the most traumatic days of my life too, not because I was also trapped, but because I thought I'd lose you Kacchan. I don't care if you hate me even more now and there is no possibility if rekindling our friendship but I just ask that you never leave me, I don't wanna be left on my own again."
Katsuki was stunned to silence. He didn't know what to say, but before he could even try the door burst open to reveal all the teachers.
The next few minutes where a blur of sounds and colours, he new many teachers and classmates tried to talk to him but he was too focused on his thoughts to care.
Eventually, he was discharged a little later but still continued to ignore Kiri's attempts to talk and soon he just gave up.
When they exited the building Katsuki caught sight off the greenette that had been on his mind all day.
"Go on ahead Shitty hair, I'll meet you at the dorms later."
Catching sight of Izuku, Kiri smiled, "Sure bro, I'll see you later." and left.
When the redhead was far enough away the blond turned his attention back to this childhood friend.
"OI, DEKU!!" He shouted startling the unsuspecting hero in training. "Ah, Kacchan, " He squeaked. "I was waiting for you."
"WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT EARLIER HAAAHH!! DROPPING A BOMB LIKE THAT AND THEN LEAVING WHO THE HELL DO YOU THINK YOU ARE!!?!"
"W-well I didn't want to hear you reject me in front of everyone, you can at least understa-"
A pair of lips silenced him.
"Damn nerd, why would I reject you, loved you too long to even think about it," Katsuki grumbled, walking away without looking back.
Izuku could only smile despite his bewilderment. That was such a Kacchan thing to do. He thought before running to catch up with him, blushing when he felt a warm hand tangle his fingers with their own.
