"I Don't Feel Safe Letting You Be Alone When Your Like This"

A/N: This is a Pinterest prompt. BTW: yes, yes, this is going very long....it is recommended that you only read my mcu fanfics if your ready for commitment.  (for those who take everything seriously it is joke)

Pepper and Tony and been dating for a few months and Tony had changed a lot in those few months. Pepper is the put-together one in the relationship so when she comes to the mansion in tears, make-up running, going straight to the workshop to look for Tony, he is shocked. For one Pepper has never come in tears with running make-up, looking like a mess. Pepper sees her boyfriend sitting on the couch he put down there for her, taking a rare break. She walks over and sits on his lap. She never sits on him without him convincing her to or him sweeping her into his arms and sitting her in his lap.

"Honey?" Tony whispers, gently.

"I-I'm sorry, I-I'll get off." Pepper stutters, moving to get off, but Tony puts his arms around her before she can move.

"No, baby, I want you to stay where you are, but, Pep, what's wrong?"

"It's stupid. I shouldn't have bothered you."

"No, its not. Pep, it upset you, in my book that means something, 'sides I want to know what happened that has my strong, both physically and emotionally, girlfriend in tears in my lap."

"You'll yell at me for letting it bother me or you'll leave me for letting it get to me."

"Pep. I intend on staying with you as long as you want me."

"Ok."

"Sooo what happened?"

"My family...we have this reunion happening and my mother has been bugging me to get married and start a family. All my siblings and cousins have and she wants me to do the same."

"Baby, does she know that we have only been dating for a few months?"

"Yeah. She says that we need to have kids."

"Doesn't she know that you can't have kids? And that even if you could you wouldn't be ready to anyway?"

"Yeah, I tried telling her that we're not ready. But every time I try to tell her I'm infertile she doesn't listen to me."

"Pep, I'm so sorry."

"I'm sorry, I know I shouldn't be crying over something so....so small, I-I should go." Pepper says as she tries to get up, off Tony's lap. He however doesn't let her get up by tightening his grip on her, not enough to hurt her, just enough to show he wants her to stay.

"Pep, I don't want you to leave. Also what your crying over is fine that your crying over it because it hits you close home." Pepper leans back and snuggles her head in the crook of his neck.

"I don't want to go to the stupid reunion this weekend." Pepper mumbles.

"How about if you tell your mom that I'm taking you somewhere and you just found out? 'Cause if that excuse works than I'll take you to one of the private beaches that my parents bought before they died. I think you would love it. If she says no then ask her if I can go with you."

"I can try to tell her that, I guess."

"Ok, do you want to call her?"

"Maybe later, calling her now involves getting up. I don't want to get up." Tony smiles and presses a kiss to Pepper's hair. He buried his face in her hair as she buried her face in his neck.

A couple hours later after they've eaten dinner (Tony didn't want her to leave) they are sitting at the table, chatting. Pepper gets up to grab her phone off the kitchen counter.
