the day after graduation. the night of graduation. i've been spending every day crying. my father wanted to talk to me so i had to leave my room and go have a conversation who cared about me less than my mother ever did.

dad : your mother's gonna be in for a while

y/n : why? can't she go out on bail?

d : her bail's set at 1.57 million dollars. we pay that much and we won't have a roof over our head.

y : and that matters more than YOUR OWN WIFE ?!

d : calm down, and don't you dare yell at me. now, we have a party to go to tonight, so wear something nice

y : my mother has been arrested, and you want to go to a party ? really ?!

d : don't start with this, this party is important for business, we must go.

y : wow.

i left the room in disbelief. my own father would do that to me ? really ? i don't understand him. regardless, i had to get ready for this party unless i wanted a bruised face.

we were throwing a party tonight, according to my father's words, it was in honour of mine and soo-ah's graduation.

soo-ah and i's? her and i have been grouped together for everything, why ? isn't it our decision for when and how we want to do things. the family pressure is just...

"mr kim, your father calls you to hus study," one of the housemaids said.

i scurried out of my room to go talk to my father

"ahhh taehyung, sit down my boy" he said. i was scared, he never talks like this, he's never been this casual, he's always uptight and formal.

he started talking, "your girlfriend, jung soo-ah, she was telling how her parents owned **** company, she's a nice girl, so maybe you should think about sealing the deal."

the deal? what deal? does he think of my romantic relationship as a business deal?

he slid a purple velvet box across the table, "your mother chose it out taehyung,"

a ring?! i- this is so sudden ?! marrying soo-ah??!!

"tonight, at the party, in celebration of you and soo-ah. i want you to propose to her. don't be disloyal to your life. do good." he stood up and left the room

i stayed dumbfounded. i have to propose. and make soo-ah my fiancee and get married to her in the coming year/s.
