You: "She knows about you... technically. I mean she knows I got an apartment with my boyfriend, just doesn't know who you are."

Tayler: "Well I think maybe now is a good time for me to meet her."

You: "You will, eventually

You: "You will, eventually. I promise. There's always the wedding."

Tayler: "That's months away, what if we go visit over break? I talked to your dad this morning and he really wants us to visit for Christmas."

You still found it weird that he and your dad talked as much as you and your dad did, but it was so sweet how hard he tried for you because you knew your dad wasn't easy to get along with. Your dad had changed so much the last few months. He'd gotten a DUI over the summer and been forced to go to rehab.

A few weeks after being released from rehab, your Dad had met a sweet woman at the grocery store and fell head over heels for her. You hadn't gotten to meet her in person, but your dad facetimed you and Tayler once a week and you'd met her over the phone. She seemed so good for him. You didn't know if it was your dad getting sober or his new girlfriend that was responsible for how much he'd changed, but you were happy.

Tayler: "I know you're nervous about seeing your dad in person after everything, but you won't be alone. Even one hint of him falling back into old habits and you know I won't tolerate it."

You were so grateful for how protective he was. You'd met in your dorm building over Spring Break because you were the only two people who didn't leave campus. You'd been pretty inseparable ever since and when the new school year started you'd decided to move in together. You were so happy, but for some reason, you still saw Kio's face when you closed your eyes before bed each night as Tayler curled up next to you.

You and Kio had kept in touch for the first few months after you left but when you refused to come home for Thanksgiving he was really upset and you didn't talk for 2 weeks. When the first Christmas came around and you made an excuse to not come, you got in a huge fight and ended things. Truthfully things had ended the moment you left, but you couldn't bring yourself to make it official at first.

Amelie told you that he seemed extra upset about something around Christmas, but you told yourself he would be better off living his own life enjoying senior year. You found out that after he graduated he got early acceptance to college and left right away for the other side of the country.

You hated when Amelie brought him up, but you couldn't make her understand that without telling her about your secret relationship. The only person you'd told was Tayler. He'd just broken up with his high school girlfriend when you met, it's the reason he didn't go home for Spring Break. The fact that you were both recovering from heartbreak was what bonded you from the beginning. He was so sweet and took care of you and honestly, you healed each other's heartbreak.

You were surprised how fast you fell for Tayler, but it was very real. Maybe it's because he saved you. You didn't have to sneak around. You didn't have to worry about it getting out. You didn't have to worry about anything, honestly. In fact, he took care of you better than either of your parents ever did. He treated you like a princess. If you're being honest, he is the person who finally healed all the parts of you that were broken by your mom leaving and your dad tormenting you.
