When you get back to your dad's it's late and everyone is asleep. Tayler watched you change into pajamas and pulled you into a kiss. He hadn't brought up seeing Kio or sensing anything weird, but it was obvious he was trying to make the point that you were his by how his hand moved up your back as he kissed you.
You were trying so hard to convince yourself that seeing Kio had changed nothing, you allowed yourself to give in to the kiss for a moment. This amazing man knew you and accepted you for your flaws, your past, your future. He just loved you... for you. Kio loved you once upon a time too. Was tonight just about proving he could heal his pride or did he still love you?
As things began to heat up with Tayler's lips moving down your neck, you pulled away: "I don't feel comfortable doing anything with my dad in the next room."
Tayler: "Oh c'mon. Didn't you ever fool around with any old high school boyfriends in here?"
You immediately flashed to the night Kio had snuck in your window and almost got caught after falling asleep together.
You: "Is this just you trying to win some contest of who's had more of me? You or my ex?"
Tayler looked hurt and in that moment you knew that wasn't it. You were the only one obsessed with memories of Kio. Tayler was just trying to have a moment with you.
Tayler: "Look, if something is going on I need you to explain it because you're not acting like the You I know."
You: *lying* "Nothing is going on. I'm just regretting not spending more of this weekend with my Dad. I was just so caught up in reconnecting with the girls. Would I be a terrible girlfriend if I asked to stay for a few days?"
At the airport, you say your goodbyes and Tayler apologizes that he has to get back to work and wishes he could stay with you. You watch him board the plane and your dad takes you by surprise by hugging you.

Dad: "He's a good guy, and we love him but I'm sure glad we are going to get some father/daughter time."
You smiled uncomfortably and he added: "At the risk of lighting a fire under your rebellious streak, can I say something?"
You nodded your head as you wiped a tear away and he continued: "If you're having any doubts then now is the time to work through them because finding out after you have a kid and life can wreck you."
You knew he was referring to your mom and why she disappeared and you didn't ever want to repeat her mistakes.
