You laid on the couch tossing and turning for almost an hour. The house was quiet but you were restless so you decided to go into the kitchen for a drink. When you turned the corner, Kio was standing in front of the microwave waiting for leftovers to heat up. You didn't know what to say so you froze in place.
"Aren't you worried your parents will wake up with the music playing?"

Kio: "Nah, I've had music playing all night. They'd rather hear that than the microwave beep."

Kio smiled at you and pushed the jug of OJ across the counter forcing you to catch it before it fell to the floor. You laughed quietly as you poured the glass.

Kio: "What?"

You: "Last time we tried to share orange juice it didn't end well."

He laughed at the memory from your childhood together and reached up for a glass then moved right next to you to pour. You could feel the electricity building between you. You reached for the cap at the same time Kio did and when his hand landed on yours, neither of you pulled away. Instead, he grabbed you and pulled you close to him as your breath caught in your throat. He danced around the kitchen to the slow song on the radio.

You looked up at him to see if this was real or if it was possible you'd fallen asleep on the couch and imagined the moment and found Kio staring down at you

You looked up at him to see if this was real or if it was possible you'd fallen asleep on the couch and imagined the moment and found Kio staring down at you. You never intended for this to happen, but when your eyes locked with his, you couldn't stop him from leaning down to kiss you. One kiss, what could it hurt...

The moment your lips touched a burning flooded straight through to your stomach and you pulled his waist tight against your body as he backed you up against the counter. He grazed the skin of her jaw with his thumb then smiled before leaning in again. You'd like to credit your pause to your conscious, but truthfully it was just your nerves. What if after all this time this was just to tease you for hurting him.

He answered the unspoken worry by lifting you up onto the kitchen counter kissing you with all the passion he'd built over the last nearly 2 years. You couldn't help but open your thighs to allow him to hold you closer and he whispered against your ear:
"Good girl."

That's all it took for you to melt into his arms and wrap your legs around him allowing him to carry you over to the couch. By the time you reached the sofa, your pants were on the floor and his mouth was tasting your skin from the shoulders to your stomach.

You winced as he pulled you down onto him and began moving your hips against his as you had in the car the first day you gave yourself to him. Things began building to such an intensity that you had to gently bite his shoulder to keep from screaming out, begging him to move faster. His hair tickled against your face as he sped up and breathed the words into the air:
"God, I missed you."

Hearing his deep voice brought you to the edge as you sped up. He gripped your lower back and met your pace until his body began to tremble below you. You collapsed in his arms and he laid you back on the couch pulling the blanket over both of your bodies and wrapping up with you skin to skin.

You laid in each other's arms and it felt as natural as if you'd never split. You couldn't bring yourself to ask what any of this meant but you would have given anything for it to last forever. Kio must have read your mind because he laced his fingers into yours and asked:
"When are you going to realize that you and I are end-game. You were meant for me and I'm always going to be yours."

You couldn't even choke out a response because you were so shocked by his boldness.

Kio pulled your face up to his and paused just inches from your lips:
"What happened to us?"

You: *tearing up*
"I don't know. We grew up? You were my childhood best friend and I loved you so much-"

Kio: *interrupting*
"You still love me. You're just afraid if you admit it you won't be able to go home to him."

You: "Well what we just did pretty much ruined that, don't you think."

Kio: *with a serious tone*
"Not if he's who you want. If you can tell me right now that he's your future then I will let you go again and I won't tell a soul what we did tonight. We'll just count it as drunk and lost in the moment."

You: "I'm not that drunk."

Kio: "Before you decide, I need you to know one thing..."

You were scared to let him finish. Truth is you loved Tayler more than you ever thought you were capable of loving someone... except Kio. Kio had held your heart since you were kids and just because you developed real feelings for Tayler hadn't made what Kio meant to you go away. A wave of guilt washed over you as you remember the lie you'd texted him hours before. He was asleep in the bed you shared waiting for you to come home in a few days and here you were, naked next to one of the great loves of your life.

Kio: "Hey... did you hear me?"

You: *snapping out of it*
"Huh?"

Kio: "I said. I am still in love with you."

You didn't expect that. Feelings? Obviously. But still IN love with you? After all this time? Before you could stop yourself you blurted out the words that you knew were absolutely true:
"I love you, too."

With those words, Kio kissed you again. As his lips moved down your neck, you pushed the last thoughts of Tayler out of your head desperate to feel connected to Kio the way you had just a few moments ago.
