I walked back to the main floor and my grandma was working on making a fire, while Boots kept watch. I walked upstairs and gathered rugs, wood, and some other supplies to cover the bottom floor windows. I nailed them into the wall with my gun and made a barrier. We all took watch shifts and made sure we each got some sleep. Boots awoke me when he saw a truck with soldiers. We went to the second floor and I saw them a couple buildings down. I put on my black cloak and my backpack on, filled my gun, and tied a rope to the metal sticking out from the carpet. "Boots, I am going to sneak into their truck and take some more ammo. We need more." I said as he nodded. I swiftly moved from alley to alley until they finally got inside the office building. I snuck into their truck without making any noise and stole a bag of ammo. Then I heard somebody walk to the truck. I hid behind some wooden boxes and when the person got inside I looked to see who it was. A soldier had gone in the truck to get food. I covered his mouth with my hand and slit his throat while I gently dropped him to the ground without any noises. I then picked up his gun and ammo and filled my bag. I quickly went back to the building and told the others what I had. "Boots, I have some supplies..." And they were gone. The building had blood stained on the wall and bullet shells everywhere. Where they alive? I didn't know. I went upstairs to the roof and there was nobody. I slept the night there and I left at dawn. My bag was filled with supplies and my gun full of ammo. I was by myself and I walked in between gates, alleys, and different streets. I heard a huge cannon like boom. I looked around and ashes floated across the sky still glowing red. I looked at the direction the ashes were coming from, and I couldn't believe my eyes. The Empire State Building was burning. The ashes floated down to earth and the massive building was smoking and fire bursted out of the windows causing glass to fall to the bottom. Survivors were in the building and I knew it, because the soldiers wouldn't be shooting at an empty building without survivors in it. I once more had a chance to survive with a group.
