They were both glowing when they met up with the boys in the studio the next morning. They didn't comment on it but Niall was grinning at them and wiggled his eyebrows up and down which made Harry blush. He had some trouble walking but he tried to hide it.

They finished their background vocals for Tell Me A Lie and had the rest of the day off. Their first single What Makes You Beautiful premiered on BBC Radio 1 and they decided to celebrate at Niall's place.

After a beer and some pizza, they all hang out in Niall's living room.
"Why haven't we tried to write a song ourselves?" Louis questioned.

"I don't know if I can write a song." Niall answered.

"We can try. Come on! Let's write one together all of us." Louis grinned.

Niall got up to get a notebook and a pen and they all sat down in a ring.
"So, what are we gonna write about?" Zayn asked.

"Girls?" Niall suggested and Louis snorted out loud.

"Love. Let's just make it about love." Harry said.

"Unrequited love?" Liam asked.

"Yeah, like you like someone who isn't into you until they can't have you anymore. You know the type." Niall said.

Liam picked up the pen and started to write something down.

"Yeah! Exactly like that!" Niall said excitedly after Liam read what he had written out loud.
"Here, let me give it a try." Niall continued and Liam handed him the notebook.

They all smiled brightly. This was fun! Harry gave it a try for the chorus. He took his time and when he was done he read it out loud, sounding unsure.

"That's so good Hazza!" Louis smiled. Harry looked around at the others and they were nodding their heads so he relaxed and gave the notebook to Liam again who started on the second verse.

Louis took over and finished the verse.

"Wow, thanks." Harry giggled.

"Not you darling." Louis winked.

"So, chorus again?" Niall asked and wrote it down when they all agreed.

"I think it needs a bridge. Zayn?" Liam asked and gave the notebook to Zayn. He looked uneasy at first but then he shrugged his shoulders and decided to give it a try.

"That's awesome!" Louis complemented and Zayn smiled.

Liam wrote the chorus one last time before he thought about a way to end the song.

Liam read the whole thing out loud one last time and then he looked up with an excited smile.
"Guys, we just wrote our first song!"

"That's crazy!" Niall shouted.

"It still needs a melody." Harry pointed out.

"Our writing team can hopefully help us with that. Let's show them this tomorrow!" Liam smiled.

So they did. Their team complimented them and promised to make a melody and send it to Simon. They waited a couple of days until they were told that the song was approved and they got to record it for the album. They all did their absolute best to make it as good as it possibly could be. Their team had come up with a great melody and they all felt extremely proud and decided that they would try to write more songs together. They aimed to write all of their songs themselves in the future. The songs they had recorded so far were good songs but it would be even more special if the songs came from them.
