It wasn't easy convincing her father that the both of them were simply just friends and nothing more. That was the problem with over-protective parents.
After how many months had passed, Vladimir, Evelyn's father, decided to tone it down, just a little bit. Slowly, he eventually begin to warm up with Remus, which was a good sign.
When her grandmother and her grandfather met him, they were the most pleased. Aloysia even bothered asking him question that seemed out of the topic, but Evelyn didn't want to repeat and rewind what she had said to him. Let's say that her questions weren't for normal friends, but much more than that.
Leonardo had told them that he liked Remus's guts for befriending a vampire and successfully ask her out for how many 'dates', as Aloysia had presumed, and both Evelyn and Remus were fine at being friends and hanging out.
The three of them said that they were happy for Evelyn, because she finally got to befriend someone, especially if it was a mortal. She never had the urge to bite his neck off (Except that one time where Evelyn wiped off the tea stain from Remus's shirt), and it was all jolly good.
But, there was one thing that wasn't good.
That one, intangible feeling inside her chest was easy and hard to ignore at the same time, depending on what she was doing. But, if she were to dismiss it and to acknowledge it for what may seem forever, like an endless routine, she knew that there will come a tome that she will explode--
"Yo, Eves! Are you floating into space again? That's not likely a very good habit, right?" He questioned her, gently patting the one side of her cheek.
Evelyn blinked her eyes in a fast motion, then frowned, touching the cheek he patted.
"I thought I told you a couple of times not to call me by that name." She said, slightly glaring at the man before her.
Chuckling, he ruffled up her hair, making it look like she just woke up from her slumber.
"That's why I like it! If you hate it, I'll just keep calling you that over and over again."
She growled at him, stroking her hair at the process.
They were now hanging out at a park, where they decided to have brunch there. Remus thought it was a good idea, since he liked picnic and parks. What was there not to like?
Evelyn never had the chance of actually having a picnic out in the open when she was so used to eating inside, but she guessed that it was a good time for her to experience this as well.
She grabbed a ham and cheese sandwhich from the basket they brought to keep all the food, and removed the plastic, and nibbled on it.
The morning sun basked them with its refreshing sunlight, and Evelyn never thought how the sun could be so gentle. Evelyn had always thought of avoiding it. But, now? She seemed to not think of the sun as her enemy, but something friendly, except when it's scorching hot, that is.
Once Remus decided to pick up a sandwhich and eat it, he looked at the sandwhich in surprise.
Evelyn raised a brow in suspicion. "Is there something wrong with it?"
