And when she woke up, she felt a weight on top go her. As she opened her eyes, she realized that it was his arm.
"Stefano, move your arm. I need to pee."
"Just a couple more minutes."
"I will pee on the bed if you don't move your arm right now."
Obeying her wishes, he unwrapped his arm, letting her get up.
Walking to the bathroom, in between her legs, she had felt quite sore.
When she looked up and saw herself in the mirror, she was shocked to see a bunch of hickeys scattered all over her neck.
Opening the cabinet where she placed all the makeup items that she was given, she had hoped there was some kind of foundation or concealer.
She was never the person to wear a lot of makeup. All through her whole school life, the only makeup she ever wore were mascara and something to fill her brows in, never anything more.
She didn't even wear foundation last night to the ball.
A sound of relief left her body when she found a bottle of foundation along with some colour correcting concealer.
After she was done with her shower, she went through the bag to find a couple of brushes to use on her neck.
When she was finished covering the hickeys, she brushed her teeth, threw on a pair of sweatpants and the t-shirt she wore last night, and she headed downstairs.
As she got to the kitchen, she saw Althaia preparing breakfast.
"Good morning!"
"Well, good morning Calla! You seem very joyful today."
"Because there is something finally to be happy about," Calla replied while making her peppermint tea.
"No coffee today?"
"No, I thought I'd have some tea for a change."
While sipping on her tea, she had noticed Althaia staring at her for a long amount of time.
"Althaia? Is everything alright?"
"You have a glow on you."
Calla was confused.
"What glow?"
Putting a hand over her mouth, Althaia exclaimed, "Oh my dear, how did I not notice sooner? You have the morning glow after making love!"
"..."
As she laughed, "Dear, no need to be ashamed."
"You uh, didn't hear anything right?"
"The walls are sound proof my dear."
Good.
"Althaia, you do not speak of this to anyone."
"Lips sealed."
Althaia and Calla were like best friends. They gossiped and told each other when things happened. A relationship Calla had wished she had with her mother.
Speaking of her mother, Calla had wondered how was her mother? Was she well? Did someone kill her because she couldn't pay back her debt? Did she overdose on heroine? There were so many possibilities.
Moving to the couch, Calla looked outside. She had realized, she never once appreciated the view from this house.
Walking outside, the grass was poking against her bare feet and the wind was blowing against her hair. The sun shined on her face giving her a glow and the only sound was silence.
